The Lover Boy Within

CHAPTER ELEVEN

Nora was back in Phoenix and home with Devin and were catching up with their lives in the times that they had been apart. Devin was gleefully talking of how he met someone new and was hoping to start something new with her. He scrolled through her pics on his phone seeking his cousins approval as he did.

"I think she's very pretty Dee but you've not told me her name", Nora replied her eager cousin.

"Zeemie, Zeemie Shields", he replied.

"I like her name but when are you going to introduce her to me eh", Nora asked with a raised eyebrow.

"That would be when we have had more dates though", he answered and got back to his phone before the breaking news came on.

CNN can confirm that Milwaukee Bucks star and power forward Giannis Antetokounpo along with a lady were attacked after picking up an order from a popular restaurant in downtown. One of the attackers had a gun but recognized the superstar after a while and stopped the confrontation. The leader of the group further escorted them out of the area and apologized for everything but both Giannis and the lady were visibly shaken after coming in to make a report.

"This is crazy, I would be visibly shaken too if I were in his shoes, I know that place in downtown Milwaukee", Devin said and Nora turned to look at him. "I've been there with Kuzma and the map redirected us through a route with many gangs, thankfully it was during the day cos I was bout to freak out because of the kind of people we were seeing", he continued to explain but noticed Nora remained quiet.

"Why you acting weird sis? You've been all strange ever since you returned, you sure you good?", Devin asked.

"Nothing just have a bit of headache", she replied and got up from where she was seated to meet Devin and lay her head on his laps.

"You should have said so I would have gotten you something for it, just feel bad for Giannis though", he added.

"Yea must have been quite traumatic", Nora replied before crashing on her cousin.

MILWAUKEE

"Mother I'm fine", Giannis repeated for the umpteenth time over the phone as a concerned Mama Antetokounpo worried about her son who escaped harm narrowly.

"Look I promise I won't go there on my own anymore but with the bodyguards or better still I just stay away", he added in a bid to calm her down. The call lasted over an hour and he was getting tired. Ever since his attack was aired he had received multiple calls about his well being mentally and had to live through the ordeal over and over again. Lebrun, Joel and James were coming over too but he had not had time to speak to Nora.

He remembered opening up about his love for her and how he defended her in front of their attackers, even willing to take a bullet for her. It definitely wasn't a play thing with Nora and he was glad to have let it out but never imagined it would be in that particular encounter. He quickly sent her a message before going to open the door for his friends who had arrived knowing it was going to be a long day.

"Are you sure you don't want to speak to a psychologist? I definitely would have needed to because that's an unbelievable experience Giannis", a full bearded Harden said and sipped his drink.

"I'm fine guys trust me, yea it was not a good one but we're fine", Giannis replied.

"Look at you bruv, who would have believed it's the same Giannis who said Nora is forever going to be on the side that's now head over heels in love, just look at you", Lebron teased the Bucks man and started laughing.

"Whatever", Giannis retorted.

"No guys let's be real here, we always knew you liked her from the very first day the both of you smashed in your Range, and ever since you've been pussy whipped, guess we can all say it was love at first sight", he added and tapped Giannis back.
