Hooked on Hope

Chapter one.

AVERY'S POV:

It's weird. One decision can change your whole life. I honestly don't remember how I got hired as the social media manager for the Mercedes F1 team, but here I am two years later, working with amazing people and having the time of my life, and I get to travel with them.

I got up and walked to Toto's office. Knock knock. I heard shuffling from inside his office and looked down at my shoes. He opened the door, his hair messy and shirt only buttoned to the middle of his chest.

"Yes, Mrs. Moretti?" I made a mental note to correct him later. I'm not married. Yet.

"Company?" I questioned with a grin.

"No.. I was taking a nap.." I nodded.

"I can come back later?" He shook his head and looked down at me.

"No, stay." He opened the door further and walked to the couch, refolding the blanket he was using. I stepped in and sat down, crossing my legs.

"What can I help you with?" Toto asked and walked around to his chair.

"Well, I think that Lewis and George should make an appearance. There have been a lot of rumors about George leaving Mercedes and Lewis retiring. It would be good for the team if they went forward and made a statement. If you approve this, I can have them in a conference tomorrow at 8." I clasped my hands and put them in my lap. He sat there, not saying a word. I can never tell what he's thinking about.

"Okay. 8 am sharp. I want to be a part of it, too. I'm sure the public has questions for me." I nodded.

"Alrighty then. I'll send you an email later. It will have the event details in it." I stood up and fixed my skirt. He nodded and glanced down at my legs.

"I will see you later, Mrs. Moretti. " He opened up his laptop and started to type away. I walked out and closed the door behind me. I need to send out an email then. I thought, walking back to my desk. I sat down and shook my feet. I should stop wearing heels.  I slipped off the heels and typed out an email.

Subject: Press conference

Hello everyone,

Toto Wolff, Celestina Bare, and myself have all come to an agreement that George Russell and Lewis Hamilton should make a public appearance and answer questions that you all might have for them. We want it to happen at 8 am sharp tomorrow and we can pay for the plane tickets and hotel rooms for your reporters. Please respond if you would like seats reserved for your reporters. There is a 3 reporter limit so please only send your 2 or 3 best.
