"JETT, we're late wake up!" Neon said, her voice loud and urgent.

Jett's eyes widened as she realized what time it was. "Oh my god, can you SHUT IT! I'm awake!" she shouted, scrambling out of bed and fumbling for her clothes.

The two of them had been roommates only for a few days, but they already had a routine down. Jett was the more organized of the two, always making sure her desk was neat and tidy, while Neon was a bit more chaotic, often eating on the go and leaving her clothes scattered on the floor. Even now, when they were obviously late to class, Neon took the time to rush to the cafeteria to get a sandwich.

"If you were awake before why did you go get breakfast instead of waking me up??" Jett asked, trying to make sense of the situation.

"I was hungry AND i'm not your mom," Neon replied with a grin. "Anyways, race to the campus?"

Jett rolled her eyes, knowing that Neon always loved a good competition. "That's so childish," she said, but a second later she pushed Neon out of the way and started running.

The cool morning air hit Jett's face as she ran. She couldn't help but smile as she felt the rush of energy coursing through her veins. It was moments like this that made having Neon as a roommate so cool. They were both childish speed demons.

As they ran towards the campus, Jett and Neon passed other students who were also hurrying to their classes. Jett couldn't help but think that at least they wouldn't be as late as these losers.

Killjoy walked into the classroom, her backpack slung over her shoulder and a coffee cup in her hand. She took a quick glance around the room and noticed that it was only half-full. "Seems like my classmates aren't at the top of their schedule," she said to herself with a chuckle

"We're missing..." she trailed off, scanning the room and counting the heads. "Yeah, we're missing half the class. Which isn't that much considering not a lot of people get in 1guard but ehh, not a great start."

Killjoy was a first year student as well but she was used to the hustle and bustle of college life because she was the daughter of the university's principal. She was a tech whiz and had been interested in cyber security since she was a kid. She had a knack for breaking into systems and was always on the lookout for new challenges to test her skills. She also knew most of the professor's due to her father's affiliations.

Today was supposed to be the introduction day for the first-year students, and Cypher had been appointed as their advisor. It was his first time taking care of the newcomers, usually his lessons were only for the higher classes. It seemed that Brim had put his mind to changing things up this year.

Killjoy walked over to a seat in the front raw and set down her backpack, taking a sip of her coffee as she did so. She could feel the excitement and nervous energy in the air, as the new students tried to get settled into their new surroundings.

As the class started, Cypher began to introduce himself and the course material. Killjoy listened intently, taking notes on her laptop as she did so.

She glanced over the room again, noting the various expressions on the faces of the new students. Some looked excited and eager to learn, while others looked nervous and unsure. And then there was this girl, looking like her brain might be about to explode already. She was hunched over her desk, staring at Cypher as if she would have more chances of understanding him by thelepaty than by simply being attentive. Killjoy giggled.

She had been lost in thought, staring off into space when she heard the door open with a bang. She was slightly startled and turned to see two students rushing in, out of breath and sweaty from running. Neon's exclamation of victory and immediate apology cut through the silence and caught the attention of the other students in the classroom.
