The fall was terrifying, considering she had to fall down boulder the size of three dragons. Kelpie landed softly on her back, shocked she was still alive. "Hey, you." Said a voice. Kelpie looked around frantically. "Are you okay?" She looked up and saw a sandwing who had deep gold scales and bright yellow speckles along his body. "Very." Kelpie rolled up and shook off her wings. "Are you sure? I think you may have dislocated your wing. I see that it is a bit crooked and-" Kelpie growled then shouted, "SHUT UP! ABOUT SOME POSSIBLE INJURIES I MIGHT HAVE!" The sandwing backed away with his eyes open wide. Kelpie hadn't noticed before, but this sandwing had longer teeth than normal, and had a curled tail without a stinger. "Okay... I was just trying to make sure you were okay..." He looked down sadly and walked into the academy. "Hey! Wait!" He paused and looked back at Kelpie. "What? NOW you are worried about your wing? Cry about it." He glared and stomped away angrily. Kelpie frowned and her heart was heavy, which was a rare occurrence for someone like her. She looked back at her wing and wiggled it and winced. I really hope there is an infirmary here. She walked into the academy. "Hello!" Kelpie looked at a nightwing who had a teardrop scale next to his eyes, and pearl glasses. His scales were almost pitch black and had only the lightest gray stars on his wings. "I am Darkcurrent, and I am also the vice-principal of Crystal Academy!" He pointed to the big, wooden sign above. "Let me just grab you a map..." He turned around and grabbed a map. "Coyote, Horizon, Sunburst, Ostrich... no those are sandwings not seawings... seawings... Oh here... Siren, Mantaray, is it Krill? No, that can't be you. There you are, Kelpie!" He pulled out a pure white scroll that had a seafoam green ribbon that said in big letters, 𝓖𝓻𝓪𝓷𝓲𝓽𝓮 𝓦𝓲𝓷𝓰𝓵𝓮𝓽. "There is your map, and it shows where your sleeping cave is, and you probably know the drill, coming from THE Jade Mountain Academy!" Darkcurrent shoved the map into Kelpie's talons and patted her on the head. "Now have fun the Crystal Academy way!" Kelpie nodded and walked away as Darkcurrent talked to another student to help them get organized. She opened the map and saw almost a full blueprint of the school in black ink and a compass with a big boulder in the center. Towards the east, there was the infirmary, which Kelpie planned on visiting later. Then, the assembly room was found more southeast. In the center of the two, the food center was found. Kelpie shook her head. None of that was important, but what was important was finding where her winglet was. She scanned the map. At the top, it said, 𝐊𝐄𝐋𝐏𝐈𝐄'𝐒 𝐌𝐀𝐏. Probably just in case I lose it, I suppose. She spotted a big circle next to the part of the map that said, Granite Winglet, and an arrow pointing to one of the circles that said, your caves are Here. Northwest. That would be... this way. She looked up toward the tunnel that must have been going in the right direction.
