I wake up to the sound of my alarm, which has been going off forever. Gosh, it's only 7:45, it feels way earlier. I quickly get out of my bed and put on sweatpants and a tank top with my favorite Nike tech over top of it. As I was about to head out I heard a knock at my door. Who could that possibly be? When I open the door I see Moni standing there. "Good morning y/n! I was just about to head down for breakfast, do you wanna come with me?"
"Sure give me 2 seconds though so I can grab my things" I hurry and grab my stuff then me and Moni walk to the canteen.
"I remember you told me that Caitlin was your dormmate, where is she?" I ask. "Well she got back kinda late last night, plus, she has her first class at like 10:00 so she's gonna sleep in for a little" she explains. "But, if she didn't get back so late she probably would've come with us." "ohh ok cool" I reply. When we get downstairs we see Kate and Gabbie going to get breakfast as well. "Hey Y/n, hey Moni!" Kate says with excitement, "Where's Caitlin? She always gets breakfast with us." "She got back late last night so she's sleeping in" explains Moni while we head in line.
"Damn, where even was she yesterday?" asks Gabbie. "I honestly don't know. Maybe some reunion thingy" Moni explains. As they kept talking I was getting more and more hungry. Sooner or later we got our food and found a table for four. I got waffles, Moni got pancakes, Gabbie got French toast, and Kate got fruit and toast.
"So Y/n, are you excited for your first official practice with us?" asks Kate.
I reply with a smile, "Yeah I think so". "Great! This season is gonna be fun"
-Later-
It's currently 9:45 and I just finished my first class of the day. In 15 minutes I have my second class with some guy named Mr. Smith. This day is so boring so far, I don't even know anyone in any of my classes. While I'm waiting for classes to start I decide to talk to Moni while walking to the classroom. "So Y/n what's your next class?" "Well I think I have some marketing class, it's at like 10," I say as we walk down the slightly crowded hallway. "Oh, really no way! Caitlin has that same class" she says with joy. "That's cool, I guess I'll finally get a chance to meet her". We stop at the room in which my class was in, classroom 2- somethin somethin. "Anyways Moni this is my class I'll see you later" "Mk, bye!" she says with a smile. I walk into class and apparently, we have assigned seats. Hmm interesting, I never knew that I would have an assigned seat in college. The professor tells me where I sit and turns out I sit in the very back, great. I take my seat and start to go on my phone while people continued to enter. As I was scrolling on Instagram someone sits next. Oh god It's that girl from yesterday I remember her face, and it seems like she remembered mine. She didn't talk to me the whole lesson. The class went by quickly but it was lowkey boring. After class, I gathered my things and walked out. Come to think of it, I didn't figure out who Caitlin was. I guess I'll see her tonight during practice.
-Later-
It was the end of the day and I was going back to my dorm to get ready for practice. I put on basketball shorts and a tight black athletic shirt. I grab my bag with my shoes and many other things and head out. As I'm walking to the gym I'm listening to music, mostly Taylor Swift and SZA, my favs. I quickly make my way into the gym to see Moni, Gabbie, and Sydney putting their basketball shoes on. "Hey Y/n!" says Sydney. "Hey Sydney, oooo I love your shoes" "Thanks, you like Kyries too?" she asks. "Omg duh, who doesn't," I say with a big smile. I sit down beside them and start putting my shoes on. "Oh you have Kobes?" she asks again. "yup, pretty sweet right?" I reply. "That's cool, you and Caitlin have the same shoes." As Sydney finishes her sentence that same girl from yesterday walks in. My eyes widen, why's she here? "speaking of the devil.." Sydney says while looking at her.
"Omg, Caitlin you're here!!" shouts Gabbie while running over to her. Caitlin? Thats Caitlin?? Damn, I had a very bad first impression with her. As I'm looking at her she notices and starts to whisper something to Gabbie while looking at me. Gabbie quickly turns to me and says something back to her. She then starts to drag Caitlin over to me while I'm tying my shoes.
"Hey Y/n this is Caitlin" she explains, "Caitlin this is Y/n, she transferred from Uconn!"
"Uconn huh? Caitlin asks while glaring at me. "oh umm yeah" I reply while looking up at her with a serious face. She definitely doesn't like me but I don't care.
"cool so you like..know Paige right?" she asks. "I'm mean yeah she's my best friend" "Hm, cool cool," she says while slightly nodding her head. After that awkward introduction, Coach Bluder calls all of us over. She was explaining how practice was going to go for today. Before actual practice, we were gonna get our lockers and practice uniforms. Oooo awesome, my number is 21, that was my high school number.
-Later-
Practice was very easy and went by pretty fast. Is at back down by my stuff and started to take my shoes off. Then Moni and Caitlin came over by me to do the same.
"Yo Y/n, you are so good! I didn't know you could shoot like that!" Moni says excitedly.
"haha thanks Moni" i say.
"Anyways, wanna get dinner with me and Caitlin?" she asks. I hesitantly say yes and she says that we'll go after they take their shoes off.
-Later in the canteen-
We got our food and sat down at a table. Moni and Caitlin were sitting next to each other and I was sitting across from Caitlin.
"Guys i'll be right back I need to go to the bathroom really quick" Moni says while getting up from her seat. Oh great, now u have to sit here with Caitlin by myself. After Moni leaves Caitlin looks up from her phone and looks at me.
"What?" I ask sternly.
"You know, I heard what you said yesterday" she says with a fake smile.
"What? What are you talking about?" I ask slightly nervous.
"I heard you call me a bitch, you talk quite loud"
"well, i'm not wrong.." I mumble.
"What was that? I couldn't hear you." she says.
"Oh how come? After all I do talk quite loud," I reply with a sarcastic smile. I could tell she was getting frustrated with me so i kept smiling. Sooner after, Moni came back to the table then we begin to eat and talk.
-After dinner-
After dinner we all walk back upstairs to our dorms.
"Bye Moni I'll see you tomorrow! Oh yeah, bye Caitlin" I say while walking into my dorm and shutting the door behind me.
-Caitlin Pov-
Thank goodness she's gone, she's annoying as hell. As me and Moni walk into our dorm she asks me what I think of Y/n. I obviously lie and say that's she's cool or whatever. Ughh, having her on this team is going to be the death of me.
