Night Changes: Kai Havertz

Chapter 23

The saturday night after the closing stages of the season and Chelsea lost their game against Everton. Amelia was in her final few days of her pregnancy and was glad it was nearly over. As much as she loves the feeling of carrying Kai's child, she just wants her pre-pregnant body back and to play games again.

Balou, Pooch and Novella were laying on the porch outside as Amelia and Kai cuddled on the couch with music playing in the TV. The german had one hand around Amelia's shoulder and the other on her baby bump. "Anyday now, we could have a baby." Kai smiles as Amelia places her hand ontop of Kai's. "I know. And I'm not going to lie, I am scared about giving birth. Imagine if I went into labour right now." Amelia jokes as Kai laugh with her.

Over the last few days, Amelia had been feeling a lot of pain but was thinking nothing about it as she thought it was just the baby kicking a lot. The girl got up off the couch and headed to the bathroom, thinking she needed to use the toilet. As she walk in, Amelia feels a sharper pain than usual before a burst of water. 'That's not pee. That's my waters.' the girl thinks. "Kai! Get here." Amelia calls, panic rising in her body.

"What's wr-" Kai pauses when he sees a puddle of water at Amelia's feet. "Have you peed yourself?" the german asks as Amelia shakes her head. "I think my waters have broke." Amelia breathes, sheer panic in her face. "Okay, it's going to be okay. Lets just get the hospital bag and head straight there." Kai calmly says. Amelia was surprised by how calm he was unlike her. The brunette german helps the brunette british girl to the living room.

Balou, Novella and Pooch watched as Kai ran upstairs while Amelia put her hoodie on. "Right, lets have a baby." Kai laughs as he and Amelia head out to his car. Kai places Amelia's hospital bag on the back seat before getting in the drivers seat and heading to the hospital.

MATERNITY WARD

After a few hours, Amelia was laid in her hospital bed while Kai was sat, asleep in the chair beside her. It was only 12 in the morning and Amelia was 7cm dialted. The hospital gave her an epidural to ease her pain. "How much pain are you going to cause me baby?" Amelia rubs her hand across her bump.

The girl looks at the monitor which is monitoring the baby's heartbeat that showed her it was fairly strong. Amelia smiled as she watched her baby's heartbeat. Glancing at Kai, the smile stayed on the exhausted girls face as she saw he was still peacefully asleep.

A couple of hours passed and Kai was still asleep and Amelia had dozed off just after 1. That was enough time to allow her to sleep through her strong contractions and for her to be fully dialted. The girl was awoken by a strong pain in her lower stomach. "Ah fuck." she groans, waking Kai. "You okay, babe?" the sleepy german asks as he sits up. "These contractions hurt so much." Amelia groans. "I know. I'll go get the doctor, see if your ready to have the baby." Kai says as Amelia nods as she moves in discomfort.

Moments later, Kai returns with the doctor. "Okay, Amelia. I'm going to check to see if the baby is ready." the doctor says as Amelia nods. Kai takes ahold of her hand and she grips onto it. "Okay. Amelia, on 3 I'm going need you to push." the doctor says as some nurses enter the room. Amelia nods as she tightly holds onto Kai's hand.

45 minutes later and a very tired Amelia, she had given birth to a healthy baby girl who was a week early. "You did it. She's here." Kai smiles as the sounds of a baby's cry fills the room. The doctor cuts the umbilical cord and hand the newborn baby girl to a nurse who wraps her in a towl before handing the baby girl to the brit.

"She looks like you so much." Kai smiles as Amelia looks at him and he places a soft kiss on her lips. "I can't believe she's actually here." Amelia says as she places a soft kiss on the baby's head. "Yeah. Wonder how the others will react." Kai says as Amelia nods.

The nurse gently takes the newborn baby girl off Amelia to clean her and put her in some clothes that the new-parents brought her. "Does dad want to hold baby?" the nurse asks before Kai nods. The german takes ahold of the baby girl and couldn't help but adore the baby in his arms. Amelia smiles as she watches Kai hold their baby.

"Have you both closen a name yet?" the nurse asks as Kai turns to Amelia. "I was thinking Isabella for her first name and Dove for her middle name." Amelia suggests as Kai nods in agreement. "Isabella Dove Havertz. Fits perfectly." Kai smiles as the baby grips his fingers. The nurse nods before leaving to sort out the birth certificate. "You get some sleep. I'll handle Isabella." Kai says as Amelia nods before laying down and falling asleep.

As the new mom slept, Kai sat down in the chair with Isabella asleep in his arms. He couldn't help but notice features similar to Amelia. From her nose to how her eyebrows furrowed when she sleeps. Gently laying Isabella on his chest, Kai rubs the baby's back before falling asleep himself.

LATER THAT MORNING

Later on into the day, Amelia awakes and glances at Kai before smiling when she sees Isabella asleep on his chest. The girl sleepily smiles before snapping a quick photo. "Did you get a photo?" Kai mutters as Amelia chuckles. "Yes, I did. What are you going to do?" Amelia smirks as Kai sits up and lays Isabella in her hospital crib before sitting beside his girlfriend. "Nothing. Just going to enjoy these moments while I can." Kai says as Amelia cuddles into him.

The peace is disturbed when Isabella began crying. Kai carefully takes the baby into his arms and passes her to Amelia. "Shhhh, it's okay baby. Mummy and daddy are here." Amelia sooths the crying baby. After a few more photos, the british-german couple finally were told they were able to go home.

AT HOME

As she holds the car seat in her hand, Amelia uses her free hand to unlock the door. Balou, Pooch and Novella immediately surrounded the girl and the boy as the pair walk in. "Hey guys." Amelia smiles as she slides her shoes off and places the car seat on the counter. The brunette brit undoes the car seat and picks up Isabella, laying her on her shoulder.

The rest of the day seems to be peaceful with Amelia and Kai slowly adjusting to becoming parents. Isabella was laid in her swing, as Amelia responds to some messages from the team and instagram comments. "She's just perfect." Kai says as he wraps his arm around Amelia's shoulder. "She is. Just pure perfection." Amelia smiles as she places her phone down and rests her head on Kai's shoulder. "Imagine if we had a boy." Kai chuckles as Amelia does aswell. "I'd love to have another and for it to be a boy. But maybe wait a year and a half before we have another as I would love to be married before we have another." Amelia smiles.

The couple watch a bit more of the TV until Amelia falls asleep with her head on Kai's chest. The german chuckles before turning the volume down and continuing to watch The Simpsons.
