August 29th-August 31th 1972
Hogwarts is a wondrous place, especially for my brother after his first year he talked non-stop about his classes, his wand skills, and his friends or what he calls "the marauders", his friends included Peter Pettigrew, Remus Lupin, and Sirius Black. He does not stop talking about the 3 of them, especially Sirius Black he talks about him every second of the day about how amazing he is, how cool his pranks are, and how great he is at spells to well, prank people. While he was talking about his friends and by friends I mean Sirius Black, while I was reading his books and excited to go to Hogwarts, make friends hopefully, learn about transfiguration and defence against the dark arts especially. I was so concentrated on reading The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 1 that everything around me was a blur and all the voices were muted.
"Red, Red? Liz? Elizabeth? Elizabeth Potter?! ELIZABETH FLEAMONT POTTER?!" James asked his sister concerned with a hint of sarcasm.
I did not hear anything or anyone only faint voices.
"Nothing absolutely nothing," James said to himself aloud while waving his hand at his sister.
Our mother entered the kitchen and was holding an onion from the garden
"James, stop annoying your sister," Our mother told my brother sternly.
"But mum, Lizzy has been reading these books for hours and hours, and she also isn't paying attention to the stories I'm telling her!" James exclaimed.
"Is it that bad? Sweetheart, she has been listening to your stories since the beginning of summer, doesn't she deserve a little break, especially when school is about to begin?" Euphemia Potter questioned her son while dicing the onion to prepare the soup.
James just glared at his mother, "Sure why not have a break, but with her books not mine!" James exclaimed at his mum, ignoring the last statement.
"You should ask for an extra book from one of your marauder mates since you love them so much" I murmured under my mouth loud enough for my brother to hear but quiet enough for my mother not to be distracted while she was busy.
"Are you done with my book, Lizzy?" James asked his sister with a glare. I looked at him closed the book and moved it to his side.
"No one is ever truly done with that book, I mean it's a book about spells-" I started to ramble until my mum interrupted me.
"Liz sweetheart, please go and set up the table. I understand that you are interested and happy to go to Hogwarts, but we all need to eat and sleep early tonight, a'right?" Euphima Potter called out.
I stood from my seat and took all the essentials for supper, when everything was set my father came down from the garage covered with dirt and oil. He came over to the kitchen and messed up my brother's hair, he stepped over to Mum
"Ooo, something smells good," Dad said and kissed Mum on the cheek.
While 11-year-old me was trying to carry 4 plates and 2 bowls they started to slip away from my hands until my dad caught them
"Careful there, firecracker," Dad said with my special nickname.
"Go change, honey, and come down to eat," Mum said to Dad.
As Dad went to change me and mum set up the table with Mellie and Picksie our house elves. James then joined the table and we all sat down to eat what Mum made us for dinner we all finished eating and got ready for bed. While I was lying down in my bed and James was next to me in his other bed I started to worry about my Hogwarts year
