You're standing in your kitchen doing the dishes when your phone rings. You pick up and tuck the phone between your ear and shoulder.
"Hello?"
"Y/n, it's me, Charlie" you hear a male voice.
"Charlie? Did I miss a deadline?" that's the only reason you can think of why he should call you.
"No don't worry there's another reason I'm calling" You dry your hands and lean against the sink.
"Listen Y/n I don't like to ask but you are my best student and I have a request for you..." He hesitates a bit, you can tell he's really uncomfortable. You've visited Charlie before, you're the only one in class who knows what Charlie looks like.
"You can ask me anything Charlie" you like your teacher, you love to write and Charlie is really good at his job.
"My daughter has problems at school, She may not be able to graduate...I wanted to help her, but well... we don't have the best relationship with each other, she doesn't want my help. I thought that if she could study with someone her age, she would accept help..."
"Of course I will help you"
Charlie sighs "But I have to warn you, Ellie is..." he doesn't quite know what to say.
"We'll get along, I'm sure" you're confident it will work out.
"Thanks Y/n, I really appreciate that. Are you free tomorrow?" you hear the relief in his voice.
"Yes, tomorrow is perfect" you smile even though he can't see it. "Will you come to my house at 4 p.m. tomorrow ?"
"Yeah! See you tomorrow"

Next day
You pack your backpack and go down the stairs where you see your mother.
"Where are you going?" she looks at you with interest.
"I'm going to Charlie, I'll tutor his daughter in English," you explain to her and put on your shoes.
"You teach your teacher's daughter?" she looks at you skeptically.
"Yes, Charlie thinks it helps her more if she gets tutoring from someone her own age. They don't have a very good relationship." your mother nods in understanding and then waves you goodbye.

The drive to Charlie's house takes a while as you have to drive across town. But when you get to his door, it's only 3:40 p.m., but you knock anyway. After half a minute, Charlie opens the door for you and you give him a friendly smile.
"Hey Y/n, thanks for coming" he returns your smile.
"Like I said, I'm happy to help. I hope it's not a problem that I'm a little early" he shakes his head and lets you in
"Not at all, but Ellie isn't here yet, but she should be here any minute" you put your backpack on one of the chairs.
"Would you like something to eat or drink?" asks Charlie as he closes the door.
"No not at the moment, but thanks anyway" you sit down.
Charlie looks at you nervously, which of course you notice immediately.
"What's wrong? Are you alright?" you look at him worried, of course you know about his condition.
"I'm fine, but there's something I should tell you-" Before he can say anything else, the door opens.
A beautiful redhead girl about your age enters the room, her expression cold.
"Ellie!" Charlie is obviously happy to see his daughter. Ellie, on the other hand, has already spotted you and raises an eyebrow.
"Who is this?" you can't help but feel uncomfortable with her piercing stare.
"Ellie, this is Y/n, one of my students. Y/n, this is my daughter Ellie" Charlie introduces you to each other.
You stand up and offer her your hand
"Nice to meet you Ellie" you smile at her but she doesn't return it.
"She knows what you look like? I thought you always left your camera off" she frowns at her father.
"I have, Y/n is the exception, she's the only one of my students who has seen me," Charlie explains. calmly. Ellie looks at you intensely. "You know what he looks like and you're still here?" she gestures at your teacher.
"Yes why not?" you look at her confused. She rolls her eyes and looks back at Charlie.
"What is she doing here?" she leans against the fridge. Now you realize what Charlie wanted to confess to you, his daughter had no idea you were coming.
"She's supposed to tutor you in English, I thought you might prefer to study with someone your own age." Charlie looks at Ellie, then at you, then at Ellie again.
"I don't want any fucking tutoring, you should just rewrite my fucking essay, that's all!" she snaps at him, but Charlie doesn't let it bother him.
"Y/n is my best student, I'm sure you'll get along," he smiles at her reassuringly.
Ellie looks at you again and grimaces and tilts her head.
"I doubt it..." She walks away from you and sits down on a large leather wing chair. Then she picks up her phone and starts typing on it. Charlie looks at you apologetically and turns back to Ellie
"Please Ellie if I just rewrite your essay you won't learn anything..."
Ellie slams her phone on the table in front of her and walks towards her father with an angry look on her face.
"I told you before that I don't need tutoring, I don't care about school, I don't want any damn tutoring! I only asked you one thing, and that's to rewrite that damn essay, but you can't even do that for me! You're such an asshole!" She puts her jacket back on and grabs her phone and backpack, then storms to the front door.
"Ellie!"
she turns around again to yell at Charlie
"Shut up!"
You look at Ellie in disbelief, she's a real bitch. Now you understand what Charlie meant on the phone yesterday. Her father is such a great person and he doesn't deserve to be treated like that.
Before Ellie can storm out of the house, stand in front of the door and block her way.
"Get out of my way!" she glares at you.
"No" you cross your arms in front of your chest.
"Now listen to me-" you cut her off.
"No, now you listen to me! I didn't drive all over town for nothing, so sit the fuck down!" she looks at you in shock for a moment, she's not used to someone talking back. Normally nobody would dare to do that.
"Listen...let's make a deal" you look at her sternly.
"What deal?" you piqued her interest as you totally surprised her that you confronted her, she never expected that from you.
"Now you're going to sit down and we'll start rewriting your essay together and if at the end of the day you find it really awful, then this is the first and last time...Deal?"
Something about you totally intrigues her, she wouldn't admit it, but you're totally her type and she thinks your attitude is hot. Just to be able to spend more time with you, to learn more about you, she's willing to do it.
Charlie watches your interaction, he knew you could handle Ellie otherwise he wouldn't have called you.
"Deal"
You see a facial expression on her face, but it's gone as quickly as it came, though you could have sworn it was a small smile.
