Rani : Her Story

Chapter 5

"Let's sneak out!" Tia whispered.

Me, Tia, Summer, Shine, Kiara, Nirmala, Surak and Kion are talking in the plains. I thanked our parents in my head for letting us spend time with each other all alone.

Earlier, Kiara introduced me to her friends too. They're Zuri and Tiffu.

We even invited the rest of Kion's friends and Zuri and Tiffu over but they refused politely saying that they rather will stay with the adults, and we're all lioness and lions so we need time together. Zuri and Tiffu chose the first decision.

I mentally laughed at the words.

It seems funny to me in a way.

"Are you crazy? We'll eventually be dead if we sneak out and our parents will catch us," Nirmala hisssed. We all pondered. I was imagining Father's angry eyes at me that is hurtful and upset.

"Relax, if anything happened, I'll protect you," Surak said, glancing at Kion's way. He nodded as well and Kiara scoffed.

"Like as if this lion could protect us!" She scoffed, scowling towards Kion who's very annoyed now. I couldn't agree with her words.

I felt that Kion will have a power soon, as it's a gift from the Lions Of The Past. He'll use that gift to protect the Pride Landers.

"Don't say Kiara, I believe that Kion is so special as you. I felt that he'll protect his people alongside you," I spoke. Kion from the eye look pleased, while Kiara rolled her eyes sassily muttering 'whatever!'.

"Don't worry, Nirmala. Nothing bad will happen. We just sneak out and come back later," Summer said, looking annoyed. I bet Nirmala wasn't convinced because she hesitantly nodded from my view.

We sneaked off quietly, thanks to Zazu's never ending preaches that seems to have attracted everyone at the ceremony. I was staying close to Kion, our pelts brushing. His presence made me feel warmed.

"Oh a butterfly!" Shine stopped making all of us stop. I whined because she had a bad habit of chasing butterflies. We're passing the waterfall now.

"Shine no, don't-" Summer tried to speak but alas her twin didn't answer and start running after the butterfly.

"Shine, no!" I shouted as we took after her in a chase. Though, Shine is the slowest, it didn't mean she can't be fast chasing a big butterfly. We had a hard time chasing.

I didn't realize we're running far. Even as further as the mountain pass leaving the big glory behind. We're far from home.

"Guys!" I shouted, realizing. They didn't listen because they're so focused on Shine. I gritted my teeth feeling my nervous instincts coming in.

Unexpectedly, I saw a cliff not that far away. We could fall right in. I didn't want that to happen so I braced myself and ran as fast as I could and jumped in front of everyone.

They looked at me bewildered and tried to stop but alas their running is too powerful that they bumped straight at me which causes us to tumble down the cliff and fell down with a thump.

"Argh, my head hurts!" Tia moaned. I roll my eyes because I'm under them, whining and in pain. My head hurts as well. As if the lions answered me, everyone got off me.

I shook my pelt licking my claw which had a scratch and thin blood was flowing. No one was injured thankfully.

"Rani, are you okay?" Kion asked me, his guys glued to my scratched claw. I nod. I smiled as well assuring him as I'm okay.

"Where are we?!" Kiara shook in fear. I took in the surroundings around us, we're in a dark barren land without no trees or even anything at all. I felt horrified.

"T-this is the End Lands!" I shouted, my scared voice echoed through the silent dark night.

"This is like a replica of the Out Lands of the Pride Lands." Kiara spoke. My ears moved, signaling me. I heard something. I think someone's coming.

"Uhh....guys I think-"

A loud roar caught me off, catching all of us off guard. We hurled up together, and quivered in fear as the night howled.

I saw a huge figure. He is a dark black lion and is pretty scary. His pelt surely didn't heal because there's old scars. He had a  scars on each eye. He had a dark scruffy mane.

"Well...well, didn't expect to see delicious cubs it territory." He growled. It's deep and scary.

"Who are you?!" Kion shouts, jumping in front of us bravely. I was dumbfounded. "Kion!" Me and Kiara shouted.

The lion frowned, seeming intimidating as before. I gulped, not liking the situation. I won't blame Shine because it wasn't her fault.

"How dare you?!" He launched forward. I see he wasn't that close but very close. In my eye, I could see millions of eyes behind the scary lion and all of them came forward and they're all lions, scary as the lion growling in from of us.

I suddenly got an idea. I came closer to Tia. She is the smallest of all of us so that is an advantage. I whispered, "Tia, when I roar, you climb the cliff and call for help!"

"Okay," She whispered back. I couldn't think straight; this is a life-death situation and we had to protect each other to stay alive.

Tia backed away, making sure her claws are unsheathed. I winked and she did as well. I walked, sitting beside Kion with a brave look, "We're not afraid of you!" I shouted at him making him raise his brows.

"Lions, attack!" He shouted and all the lions made run for us. Tia backed away into the dark so that she won't be seen. We ran away, with the lions hot on our tails.

We just kept on running as fast as we can under the moonlight. We created a team very quickly, mustering our plan.

A lion lunched at me, pinning my tail. I stopped me by a fast reflex, I used my back forelegs to kick him in the eyes and I was off again by my friends.

I forgot about Tia! I roared loudly, I was shocked because it's quite almost similar as of a grownup. I prayed Tia must've had the signal already and went for help. We need to buy time.

I spotted a hole or more like a log. I ran to it, leading the others. We got into it. In a hurry, a lion accidentally hit it and it was now rumbling over.

I felt a wet sensation getting inside and I realized water was coming in. We're in a river and it's probably very fast, cuz we are speeding faster than brhire.

I closed my eyes and prayed.

Hope nothing goes wrong.

I decided that though Kion should've the roar by now in this chapter, I decided not to because it's way too early....yet perhaps soon after Baliyo's born.

And in my opinion, the most important reason why I wrote this book is about the relationship of Kion x Rani. In some Kion x Rani x Fuli books where Kion had to choose between the both of them, I do realized that in the comments, most readers chose Fuli x Kion because they met from childhood.

I understand their reasons why. I saw that most people are saying that Kion x Rani's relationship in the show was very rushed and it should've taken more time for the romance to become develop well. And that Rani is probably liking Kion only for his roar, I understand that.

When I saw them together, I didn't ship them at all, I honestly thought they're going to be friends and all. Didn't expect them to have a romantic relationship at the end and got married quickly which sometimes made me wonder what's going on with the creators' mind. They should've made Rani a bit less mean to them at first and that she shouldn't been winning Kion's love because of his roar! Then everthing would've been in peace!

I'm writing this book so that their relationship should develop well and turn into romance later and definitely should get married in adulthood to calm the readers down.
