VEGA HAD SLEPT FOR MAJORITY OF THE REMAINDER OF THE TRIP, TRYING TO REGAIN THE MASSIVE BOUTS OF ENERGY SHE HAD LOST DUE TO THAT DEMENTOR.
but when they were about twenty minutes from the station, luna had shaken her awake to usher her to change into her hogwarts uniform.
so now, vega was sat back across from luna, hugging her hogwarts vest around her. her crimson and gold tie was loosely done around her neck, contrasting against her white (though slightly dirty in some places) button up, the gryffindor emblem of her vest creased. her pleated skirt was about mid-thigh length and overall didn't look too horrible.
vega runs her pale fingers over the crimson colours, pursing her lips.
she thinks back to her time of sorting, where the sorting hat had struggled.
he had said her ambition matched a slytherin, her smarts matched a ravenclaw and her bravery matched a gryffindor. vega could care less which house she got, but in the end, she was placed into gryffindor.
her favourite thing about the house was the quidditch team. she was on the team, but filed as a reserve for any spot that needed it as she didn't quite join on time. wood seemed quite wary of her, too.
within a few minutes, the train had slowed to a stop and they were all now, finally at the real hogsmeade station.
speaking of hogsmeade, all of third years were now permitted to go.
vega, of course, could not. as nobody had signed her note and she had nobody to sign her note, she wouldn't be allowed to accompany the group. that left her down in the dumps for a while, as everyone talked about hogsmeade as if it was some god-sent town.
but eventually she had gotten over her sulking. surely she wasn't the only one without permission, so she wouldn't feel like the only loser who couldn't go.
scratching the scar down her neck that attracted many looks if she wore a low enough shirt, vega and luna stood.
allowing the hall to clear before the two stood out, they finally exited their compartment and exited the warmer train to stand in the icy cold, rain shooting down at them like bullets.
vega grumbles to herself, waving goodbye to luna and slouching over to where majority of her own year was.
shivering like crazy, she hugs her arms under her chest, holding her legs as tight together as she could.
"firs' years this way!" called the familiar voice of groundskeeper hagrid. vega turned and saw the gigantic outline of Hagrid at the other end of the platform, beckoning the terrified-looking new students forwardfor their traditional journey across the lake.
