Y/N POV

"Long time no see. . . Ai-."

". . . ."

"-. . . How've you been?"

I never really wanted to ask that question.

She raised her smile a bit from that.

"I've. . Been doing fine, although things have been keeping me busy I can still keep going."
She said as she hesitated a bit before speaking entirely.

When she said that, her expression was a bit happy, and she had a cheerful demeanour in it. And I simply reacted nothing to it, I don't care if she was busy or not-. . .

. . .-It's just that, I don't want to know she's living a good life. While I'm here having the opposite of it. I know she wasn't bragging, but I can't help and get upset a bit over it.

But for some reason, I can't help it to ask her that question. . . This kindness of mine forced me to say it to her despite what happened to us, back then. It's like, I don't want to offend someone so I have to say it to her.

This kindness of mine.
I really, got it from my Mom. . .

Well. . . I guess, I got my dad's strength I suppose.

"What about you?"
She asks.

"Same as ever."
I replied still keeping this neutral face of mine and with no emotion whatsoever.

And after what I said, she just stood there awkwardly looking and awkwardly holding her hat at me with that smile of hers while I'm just standing in front of her doing nothing as well. I'm a bit hesitant to let her come inside my apartment but I have to. Just like I said for the past few days, my journey here would be nothing if I don't do something about it.

"Feel free to come inside."
I said to finally break this awkward environment, I walked to the side while holding the door and stretched my free arm inside my apartment signalling her to come inside.

"Uh, s-sure!"

". . . ."

"Thank you!"

"Hmm. ."

After that, she slowly walked inside my apartment and I close the door. She took off her shoes and placed them neatly on the side so they wouldn't be accidentally stepped on, while I was just standing on the side of my door near her, just impatiently waiting for her to finish.

And when she was finished, she turned around to face me with a smile on her face and ask me.

"So, how's your fun in Tokyo?"

"Nothing, just like I said. Same as ever."
I said, and walk passed her heading toward my living room to lead the way.

"Are you sure? It's been four years and there's been a ton of new things while you were gone."
She said as she followed me from behind, after that.

"Yeah, that four years is where I was also in an unfortunate state."
I quickly said.

She got a bit startled when I said that, and I knew she was gonna feel guilty about what I just said. I can tell it even though I wasn't looking at her face behind me. She's aware what she did was devastating.
