ROSALYN SAT ON the edge of her bed looking at the original vampire in his fresh, new suit while he was adjusting the cuffs of his black suit jacket.

She invited him in as per his request, or perhaps demand. She let him inside her home and straight to her room. The sigh was very strange, having a handsome man like himself in the middle of her room, in front of her dresser...

"So, vampires need to be invited into homes." She stated, "that's reassuring."

Elijah only nodded his head, "Indeed. You have to be careful who you allow into your house. Mystic Falls is full of vampires."

She nodded her head, "I will be very careful."

Rosalyn had about a million question to ask, but she decided not to voice any of them. It was easy for her to see that to know is to get involved, and she didn't want to be involved in anything.

Elijah looked around the room, noticing that the paintings, the flower pots, and the pictures on the walls were of two types of flowers, "You seem to have a particular fascination with flowers."

A huge grin brightened her entire face, "Not all flowers, just sunflowers and roses."

"And why those in particular?" He asked, feeling genuine curiosity.

Rosalyn stood up touching a sunflower on her window seat, "Well, I feel that sunflowers are a representation of a bright life in a way. And roses, well, a long time ago, back when my mom was still sober, she told me of this story about my dad when I was born, that when he saw me he gave me a rose. So, roses are a sign of love and affection for me. Sunflowers and roses are life; the life that everyone should have: bright and full of love."

Elijah couldn't help but smile, albeit the sadness tainting it. Life should be bright and fall of love; not his nor his family's. "Is your life bright and fall of love?" He directed the question at her.

She shrugged, "Not at the moment. Sometimes it feels like I was forced into this dark room, and I fail to see even a glimpse of light. But I have love: the love of my mother, the love of my friend, and I will see other kinds of love as I live." Rosalyn was surprised at her own honesty with him. She smiled his way, "That's why I keep them around me, a reminder abd an anchor to ground when when life isn't bright or when I don't feel loved."

Elijah nodded his understanding then said, "Thank you, Ms. Stone. You have been very helpful."

"I can say the same to you, Mr. Mikaelson." She tried to mimic his formal and serious tone as much as she could. "I wish you well, and if you ever need help never come knocking on this door, and I shall never knock yours."

Elijah nodded, giving her a small smile before exiting her room.

Had the situation been different, had he not been pressed by time with a mission to achieve, Elijah would have loved to get to know her better. He would have enjoyed talking to her more. However, for now, he needed to settle in Mystic Falls and put his plan in motion.

ROSALYN WAS AT the Grill again with Sara, "So what was wrong with your mom? It's been two days and you've gone off the grid."

She shrugged her shoulders, "You know, the usual." Rosalyn took a sip of her iced coffee, "So, what have you been up to?"

"Nothing much. My mom has been going all over the old house to find something to show at that historical society event. Apparently, Carol asked her to, said it was quite important."

"This town and its endless events."

Rosalyn had opted to stay at home for a while rather than go out out there and face the music so early. She didn't want to come face to face with Elena and she needed to put her head together and make up a good story, in case she was asked.
