"Should we put up decorations?"
"Ooh! We could make a banner!"
"I don't know it seems a little short notice..."
"We have the time! They're not coming here until six."
"Yeah but where would we get the materials? Niya and Y/N already left for the store and I'm not sure they'll even have craft supplies."
"We could ask them to run to Daiso?"
"I'm sure we'll be fine without." The voices of your members chattered away in the practice room as you walked up to the door.
"We're back!" You called to the room as you entered. Your hands were full with shopping bags holding what you were sure was enough snacks and drinks to feed the entirety of the building.
"I think we went a little overboard, but somehow we had change to spare." Niya laughed as she struggled with the door and her own load of shopping bags. "I'm not sure we'll finish these in a week never mind one night."
"It's fine... Ooh! We could make gift baskets!" Hwa said cheerfully, almost bouncing in her seat.
"We don't have any craft supplies though?" Ha-Rin sighed.
"We can just give them a bag full of anything that's left? There's definitely more than enough. From what Ricky said about the snacks in their previous dorms I think they should be able to finish them." You laughed.
"Yeah, we'll just give them whatever's left." Niya agreed placing the bags on the tall table at the back of the room.
"We have another hour before we told them to come up. What should we do?" Rhea asked the group. Everyone was either fixing their hair or makeup in the large mirrors or helping arrange the snacks as neat as they could manage on the large table at the back of the room.
"We could... Practice?" Niya smiled, being able to predict the answer of her members. Everyone sighed and a couple of the girls shouted no jokingly throwing themselves on the ground and kicking their legs. You continued laughing and joking until guests started to turn up.

As the groups you had invited arrived at your door, you all thought of ways to welcome your new friends. You had all decided to go with the classic, lights off and shouting "Surprise!" as they walked in. This is how you had ended up walking down to their practice room to escort them to yours.
You knocked on their door and a sudden rush of adrenaline coursed through your veins. All you wanted was for this night to go well, and for the group to feel welcomed and at home. Yes, they had been at the studio for a couple of months now, but you had never all came together to congratulate them.
The door opening slightly pulled you out of your thoughts and you looked up from the spot you were staring. You were greeted by the smiling face of Matthew. You smiled back and he stepped aside to let you in.
"Guys! Y/N is here!" Everyone stopped what they were doing and turned to face you at the door. They were stood in formation talking about a part of the choreography they were learning but stopped and turned to face you as you walked in. They all welcomed you in and Hanbin told them to take a break.
"You're a little early." Ricky joked as the two of you stood to the side away from the rest. He took a few swigs of water before turning back to face you. His light hair fell over his eyes, it was slightly damp from practice, but it suited him. You noticed his black sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, and it was unbuttoned slightly revealing his pale skin. He wore glasses that sat low on his nose bridge that he would occasionally push up with his pointer finger. You had never seen him like this before, it was new, but you welcomed it.
"We finished setting everything up and the girls kind of kicked me out so I could come and get you. No reason we have to leave straight away though." You smiled.
"What time is it now?" Ricky asked searching for his phone.
"5:43" You told him, also looking. "Here." You noticed it on the table next to you and handed it to him with a smile.
"Thanks... So, we have 15 minutes and it takes about 3 to get there... That leaves us with 12 minutes... A little over prepared?"
"Yeah probably." You both joked
"Hey Y/N, wanna see what we've done so far?" Gunwook asked cheerfully running over to the two of you.
"I mean, if you're fine with spoilers then of course!" You replied.
You sat on the couch at the back of the practice room and watched as the boys got into formation. Hanbin nodded in your direction and you pressed play on the laptop that he had given you.
The boys sprung into action performing to the song they had been practicing for the past while. Each member stood out in their own way. Hanbin's sharp movements. Jiwoong's experience and charisma. Matthew's bright facial expressions. Just to name a few. For each member you could feel their passion and determination to do well. They weren't your own grouo, but as a friend you felt proud of them.
No matter how much you tried to pay attention to the others, your eyes kept falling back on Ricky. His attention to detail stood out to you. He bounced off of every beat like he was carefully crafted along with them. You tried your best not to stare and to give each member a fair amount of attention.
Before you knew it the song finished and you placed the laptop next to you as you stood up and clapped. You smiled as they turned to face you and bowed and clapped themselves, smiling and proud of what they had done so far. A few parts of the choreography were missing, a few members bumping into eachother here and there, but they all came together seamlessly for the parts which they knew.
"That was amazing! The fans are going to love it!" You smiled brightly. The boys left their positions and once again returned to their water and began chatting away again a few coming up to you and asking about how they did. You told each member how well they did and supported them all individually. You couldn't wait for them to show this to the rest of the world.

The minutes passed quickly as you joked around with the members and as you checked the time you decided now would be the perfect time to leave. Plus you had gotten a text from Ha-Rin saying everyone was there and in position to greet the new group. You told everyone that your group was ready and you all left the practice room, heading to yours.
The feeling of nervousness and excitement rose again as you approach the practice room. You knocked on the door and poked your head in, secretly telling the first person you spotted to be quiet as you pushed each member into the dark room. They all looked around confused when they didn't see anyone.
"Where is everyone?" Yujin asked, and as the door clicked shut signaling that everyone was in the room spring to life. You turned on the lights behind you and smiled at the boys' surprised faces as they saw everyone. You yourself noticed that the room had been decorated since you left.
Banners and fairy lights hung from as high as people could reach, the food table was also decorated with confetti under the plates and packets of snacks, and a few small balloons sat in the corners of the room. About thirty people, other than your own group and the one you were celebrating sat spread out in the room, each cheering and welcoming the new group brightly. A few of the boys put their hands iver their face in embarrassment, a few ducking in surprise, but all of them were happy. Ricky turned to you. He smiled and shook his head. So this is what you were planning. You laughed as you made eye contact with him and walked to him as everyone began to mingle.

The room filled with music and conversation. A few people dancing to the familiar choruses they had learnt in their free time. You and Ricky stood to the side as usual, watching the rest of the room in front of you.
"All this for us? I thought it was supposed to be a little get together?" He joked, his gaze softening as he looked at you.
"For us, this is small." You joked back. "We started by inviting two or three groups but more and more people wanted in. They all were excited to meet you and make friends." You smiled. Ricky looked out over the people in surprise.
"This many?"
"Of course. We're all in this together you know." You both laughed at the cliché.
"Okay High School Musical." Ricky jabbed playfully.
"If you think that's an insult it's really not. I love that movie." You scoffed crossing your arms, pretending to be offended.
"You are so basic." Ricky laughed. You gasped and pushed his shoulder. He continued laughing at you as you frowned. "I like that movie too. We should watch it together sometime." He looked at you in his peripheral vision waiting for a response.
"Are you hitting on me Ricky Shen?" You played, looking at his blank expression.
"I would never!" He said placing a hand over his heart.
"Awh, pity. I would have accepted." You shrugged, laughing as you walked into the sea of people. Leaving him with his thoughts.
Ricky stood in shock, not expecting you to playfully flirt with him.
In truth, he was hitting on you, but he never expected you to take it seriously, never mind flirt back.
He shook his head as one of his members ushered him into the crowd. The thought of you accepting his advances never left his mind as he danced with the rest of the party.
