"Without strong opponents, living isn't fun. It's perfect if I can't win." - Kagami Taiga
So, has anyone else noticed that others like it when things are easy? Have you noticed it in yourself? Have you noticed how most tend to try to find the easiest route and go with it? It's faster, right? It's obvious to take this path. No chance of failure. That's what matters, right?
I'll admit, at times I think that way as well. As long as I succeed and get what needs to be done done, I'm safe. Why put forth any more effort than need be? If you're at the finish line, you're at the finish line. You avoided the hardships. You made it. You "won." Everything is fine!
No, this isn't true. At least, to me it isn't.
I just brought in a finish line, so let us associate this with running. Do you want to just walk and eventually get there, avoiding everything that may stand in your way like a "strong opponent?" Or do you want to sprint forward, uncaring of what stands before you?
What will you get if you just trudge along? I mean, sure, you'll get to the finish. You'll live, and you'll be done. What did you really get, though? That one expression of no pain, no gain? It's not exactly wrong. Sure, strong opponent's (obstacles) may be there to knock you down. If you keep running harder and harder, though, you'll find yourself at the end. This way, however, you actually tried. You gave it your best. Maybe you didn't get first, but you did give it your all. I'm sure that can contribute to a whole other bout of wisdom.
As Kagami puts it, it's perfect when you can't win. This means that you're not just strolling through, careless of the opponents around you. If you have the ability to lose, and if you do lose at times, it means you're actually sprinting force along the path of life. Others may not find it worth it to do such, but no matter what, you can't reach the top by simply finding the simple path.

Random note - if the name of this article as Sprint is lame, it is totally my fault this time XD
