The picture above is half of my scar around a month or two after surgery. The scar continues until you reach my shoulder blade. It is 30cm long.
I LOVE my scar. I hate the fact it's fading - see an updated picture in my final chapter.
It's my battle wound. I want to show everyone so that they can see what I went through!
I'm never self-conscious or embarrassed and no one else should be either.
It doesn't hurt, but it does feel strange when other people touch it. The nerves are sensitive and it just makes me feel a bit squiffy. I feels raised, but to me it feels like any other part of my skin.
Scars for whatever reason, good or bad, are beautiful. They show that you've been through something and came out of the other side.
Regardless, if you are worried, it will fade a lot over time. It's only been 2 years and mines barely visible + I don't use anything on it.
I am proud to have a big ass scar.
