Kenny

"Aw shit," Stan said looking at his latest text from Wendy.

Stan, Tolkien, Kyle, Clyde, and Kenny were at basketball practice at the youth center.

Kenny was locked in concentration and couldn't hear them over the sounds of squeaking shoes on the court.

Kyle leaned over Stan's shoulder to read it, "Dude, She's dating already? How the hell do we tell Kenny?!"

"I don't know. Maybe just wait until we get more information from Wendy."

"That sucks man."
...

Saturdays were supposedly 'busy days' for Shitty Wok, but Mr. Kim closed for the day to tame the rat problem that had become increasingly concerning.

Kenny needed the money though, so he had called up Tweek and asked if his parents needed any hired help for the day and he confirmed.

He was working in the back room of Tweak's Coffee sorting beans when he heard a familiar sound.

It was Y/N's laughter...

He was hoping he'd see her again this weekend. sometimes he gets so busy it's hard to keep up with plans.

He could only imagine what jokes the girls were cracking this time.

Walking into the cafe area he froze.

Y/N was here... but with Andrew West.

Kenny felt vulnerable and a little stupid at the same time. This West kid was everything that Kenny wasn't.

"Kenny!'" Y/N rushed over to him giving him her signature hug that he had to bend down for.

"Who is... This?"

Cocky asshole.

"Andrew, this is my friend Kenny!"

Her words might as well have been a knife shoved into his heart. He knew what dying by knife was like... and it felt a lot like this.

"We were just enjoying our coffee date, Y/N does have good taste, It's been fun meeting you... Kenny".

Andrew put his hand on the small of her back and gently lead her out the door.

Y/N peeked over her shoulder and mouthed the words text me.

On his way out... Andrew dropped his cup of coffee in the trash can... his full cup of coffee.

...

"GODAMNIT BITCH! I SAID DROP IT"

"YOU DROP IT ASSHOLE!"

The first thing Kenny hears after one of the most soul sucking days of his life is his dumbfuck parents at each other's throats again.

It had become so normalized that he just walked right past them, into Karen's room.

He sat down next to his little sister on the bed with his head in his hands.

Karen squeezes her special bear that Mysterion had once brought to her.

"Are they going to fight like this forever?"

"So far they've fought my whole childhood so, maybe."

"You had a bad day didn't you?"

"What gave it away?" Kenny said with a strained laugh.

"I had a bad day too. Mike Grahm stole my crayons... And there's no way Mom and Dad will buy me another set." Her head hung low.

"What happened to you?"

"Just in a crappy mood. Here, let me tuck you in, it's almost 7:30."

...

Kenny's entire day had been out of his control, and he knew just how he could win some of it back.

Mike Grahm's house wasn't that far away and his window was cracked open.

Sucker.

Donned as the masked anti-hero, Mysterion, he stealthily perched upon Mike's windowsill.

The boy was startled awake feeling a dark presence nearby.

"Do not say a word," Mysterion said in a deep grave voice.

"You have stolen Karen McCormick's property. I want it returned. Now."

"H-here! Take them!"

He practically shoved the colorful bag at him.

"Karen McCormick is off limits. Understand me?"

"Yes."

And with that, he disappeared into the night.

Karen McCormick would wake the next day with Mysterion's symbol on her recovered sack of crayons.
