I'm surprised when I found out-which is not that long ago- that when I speak in English, I do speak in British way of English only in my county accent?
After watching too many languages learner videos, and realising that people have a certain attraction towards how the British people say and later finding out that I do speak in British way, but just my country accent mixed with it. I'm flattered, like really really flattered...
As an Asian and as a citizen of a country which was once ruled by Britishers, it is naturally has in our speaking as we use the British rules of vocabulary.
I often used to wonder why we use colour and some people use, color as it's spelling but when I found out we use the British rules and it just felt awesome in realising that I use the language just as like how the people, who invented the language, use it like nothing ultered or modified!
As a citizen to my county we people here are born as bilingual Beacuse we have so many languages here but if you put it differently, the people who can speak English they know a European language! I always wanted to learn a European language but to think I speak a European language by default!
OMA!!!
