The moment you born in a desi family, you- without any choice, get thrown yourself in an ocean of drama... where one ordinary person even can't detect if he's listening to a sarcasm or an actual sentence.

But by the grace of Allah, people like me, are made to adapt it and even are blessed with a feature to detect the smile which the mother throws at us whether it is of - indication of receiving a flying chappal, or of - a promise to beat us later if you have made some weird comment on the relatives, or the rarest - A genuine smile which would not cause you any trouble.

Ofcourse the rarest-

If you, unfortunately, refused to abide by their order to do the work, they would start the family trait of drama which would say,

Bas issi liye tum ko paal pos ke bada kiya tha ke tum yeh din dikhao hame!

And their nicknames can be always called as, abuse,

Naalaik, bad'tameez, maa baap se Jubaan ladata hai.

In this situation my friend, you are supposed to shut yourself up if you want don't want to receive any shoe or broom your way.

Comparison in a desi family is actually often occurance, you get compared to your elder brother for he is a shining star of the family,

You get compared to your same age cousin who - as compared to you, has many,  productive hobbies and you just have one hobby to taint the legacy of the family.

You get compared to your friends as they are more polite than you, and don't act like frustrated and eat their all frustration with a single smile.

And you even get compared to your  school bag, which is even more organised than you!

Etc, etc, etc...

And that miraculously boosts your self confidence!

Catch the sarcasm you all!

If you have interest or not,
you get dragged in any social gathering, even if that means -you have to sacrifice your alone time and share your future goals with any random aunties or uncles.

Believe me when I say that's frustrating like anything! When they ask you,

Aur aage Kya karne ka socha hai?

Like their own children were involved in making the Covid Vaccination!

And they say, living in desi family is fascinating!

Yeah Man, just swipe the spelling with frustrating.
