Dawkins' POV:

I waited anxiously at the door. Mum and Dad would be here any minute. They had spotted an orphan a couple days ago, who stays at the city orphanage. When they spotted him, they only told me. They said he looked my age, and was a Dalmatian too. I was pretty excited for an adopted brother who was my age, 13 (In dog years, mind you). It was late in the evening. Some of the pups have gone to bed, exhausted from a long, hot summer day. Suddenly I heard a beeping noise and the door opened. In front was Mum and Dad, along with someone who was hiding behind them. Mum and Dad scooted out of the Dalmatian's way. He wore black gloves and toeless socks (or whatever they are). But the main thing that caught my eye was a pair of red headphones that was around his neck. He smiled a shy smile. I decided to break the awkward silence.

"Hello, I'm Dawkins. You must be our new brother," I said, holding out a paw for him to shake. Instead he high- fived me.

"Hey bro. Nice to meet you. I'm DJ," He stated, putting a hand on his chest.

I already didn't like him. I didn't need another sibling that uses so-called 'slang'. I already had my oldest sister, Dolly, who has his mind of attitude. I wanted to walk to bed, but suddenly Mum stopped me.

"Dawkins, I know it's late, but do you want to give him a tour?" She asked, in her usual friendly voice. I didn't want to hurt my new adoptive brother's feelings, so I agreed. We first walked into the kitchen.

"This is the usual kitchen, filled with kibble and...kibble," I said, remembering the only thing we eat is kibbles. DJ smiled at me.

"Cool."

We then walked upstairs after showing him the basement and living room. We came to a hall, filled with doors.

"Why do you have so many rooms?" DJ asked.

"Well, when you have 98 siblings and 2 parents, your bound to have a lot of rooms. Of course, not everyone gets a separate room."

DJ's eyes were huge.

"9-98 siblings?!" He hyperventilated. He was breathing faster and faster before collapsing.

"DJ?!" I screamed, worried.

Mum and Dad came into the hall.

"What happened?" Dad asked.

I shook my head. "I don't know. I said we had 98 siblings and he started breathing fast, and collapsed."

"Oh, honey," Mum started, "we forgot to tell you he has a fear of large crowds. He'll be fine.

I planted my paw on my face. "I'll put him on the couch."

Mum and Dad nodded. "Okay. Remember, please treat him like you do all your siblings. Protect him, spend time with him, and most importantly, love him."

I nodded, not wanting to do either. I sat him on the couch, and headed to my room, dreading what tomorrow might hold.
