He looked like he was about to break down. "What happened?" Then his mom quickly ran into the room. "What's wrong?" I asked, "He has night terrors and wakes up screaming sometimes." "Thats why he's always up so late at night?" "yeah" "I then felt Ace grab me by my waist and hugged me putting his head in the crook of my neck. He was shaking so I started massaging his head to calm him down. After 10 minutes he started to calm down and laid down laying his head on me so I could continue scratching it "why didn't you tell me about this?" "I thought it went away. When I'm with you I don't have them, only when you're not next to me." "So, you've only been sleeping when you're with me?" "Yeah, that's why I'm always up so late." "Do you want me to sleep here tonight? You can even sleep at my place if you want." "You don't have to princess, we have school tomorrow." "I know that's why I'm offering, you need a good night's sleep for tomorrow." "You should know that it's not good to lie princess, I already know you only offered that to benefit you because you like sleeping next to me" "you're a jerk" "I know" he said shrugging his shoulders "I'll stay at your house today and I'll just go through the window in the morning princess" "or you can just use the door like a normal person" "But that's the thing I'm not normal, you of all people should know that." "Just go take a shower I'll be at my house" "Wait, I want to go out to Miller's ale house tonight for dinner. Do you want to go?" "Do you even have to ask? We haven't gone since we were 13" "I know, I've missed that place." "Well then let's go Acey" He shook his head as he opened the door. When we got there, I saw Elias sitting by himself crying, so I quickly walked up to him "What's wrong?" "Hey our table is.... Dude what's wrong?" "My girlfriend broke up with me" he said in between sobs. I then pull him into a hug "Do you want to join Ace and I for dinner?" "Thank you" he said as he went towards Ace asking for a hug. Ace hugs him and pats his back awkwardly looking at me for what to do. Elias sits on Ace's side of the booth still crying on Ace's shoulder "you know you were always like a brother to me Ace." "Are you drunk?" Ace asked him trying to read Elias "He's only this emotional when he's drunk." "Ace he just got heartbroken , leave him alone." "No, he's right, I had a couple of drinks before I got here but I'm not drunk, just a little tipsy." "Sure, you are." "Can we order now? And why are you too hanging out." "We are just catching up" I said quickly before Ace said anything. "Did you drive here Elias?" "Yeah" "Well then Ace, you can drive his car back to his house and drop him off, then I'll just follow you and pick you up from there and we'll drive home." "Home? You guys live together?" "No, we live next door to each other Elias. Did you forget?" We all ordered our food then left the way I planned. That was the first time I got to drive Ace's truck "Princess, please don't mess up my baby, ok" "Stop being so dramatic. When we get to Elias's house then you can have your baby back." "I'm trusting you princess" "Okay Acey I won't drive crazy. I'll follow you so don't drive too fast." "Okay, princess." When he dropped Elias off, he quickly ran to the car, scooped me out of it and jumped in the driver's seat kissing the steering wheel "I missed you so much" "Did you really just kiss your car?" "Yeah, why are you jealous?" he said raising one eyebrow "Ha you're funny" "I know I am" I quickly got into the car, and we drove back to the house. Ace quickly ran into his house to go take a shower. When I got out of the shower Ace was already on my bed playing on his phone. I got into the bed and turned off the lights and I felt Ace snuggle up against me "Good night princess" "Good night Acey" When my alarm went off I turned around and saw Ace still knocked out "Acey wake up you slept through the night" "Mmhhm five more minutes princess" "Fine only five more minutes" As I went to get up I was quickly pulled back into the bed in between Ace's arms "Ace I said you can have five more minutes. I need to get ready." "No just throw on my hoodie, some shorts and put your hair in a messy bun, plus you only wear mascara so that shouldn't take long." "I have curly hair a messy bun actually requires me to wet it then put leave in conditioner in it then-" "Shhh princess please just five minutes" "Fine" He the pulls me in closer to his warm body causing me to get sleepy "no I can't do this I'll fall back asleep Ace" he starts whining making me laugh "hurry up and go get ready" I said as I opened the window and throw me one of your hoodies too." He grunted, then walked to the window slowly and climbed the tree back to his room. "Here princess" he said as he threw a black hoodie with his jersey number on the back. I go to do my hair and then my makeup then put the hoodie on after so I wouldn't get it messed up. Right when I finished getting ready, I heard the doorbell ring. When I opened the door, I saw Ace "You know we don't have to leave until 8 and it's only 7?" "You're the one who woke me up so early in the first place. I was also thinking we can go get some breakfast at Mcdonalds or something." "I'm not hungry. I don't usually eat breakfast" "come on. You have to eat, if you don't you won't have any energy. How about Chick-fil-a we can get some chicken minis" "I guess" I said hiding my smile knowing that's the one thing I would make an exception for. "Don't try to hide your smile, I know you have a soft spot for chicken minis. Every time we ate them when we were little you would always do this little happy dance." "You remember that?" "Of course, I do, you still do it" "How do you even know?" "You tend to leave your window open a lot." "So, you just spy on me?" "Nope, I just so happen to look at my window and see you dancing when you eat foods you love." "I'll let this one slide Alex Axel" "Did you just use my last name?" "Yup now let's go." I said as I grabbed my backpack and pulled him to his car "Can I drive your car? Please!" "Fine, go ahead" He tossed his keys in the air and I caught them and did a little happy dance as I walked to the driver's seat. He then put the radio on and the songs were terrible. I plugged my phone into his aux and played "Medicine" by queen Naija. When I played it he looked at me and smiled. We both started singing the song "you told me you love me but I ain't been feeling it lately. You say you love keeping me flying but can't keep me from looking so crazy." "Come in at 6 in the morning. Where you been? Where you been? Who is that texting your phone?" "just a friend, just a friend, okay" I looked at him as we were singing the song and I was surprised he knew it. When we got to the good part of the song we both started singing loudly "so I guess I know what I got to do. Give you a taste of your own medicine, hey yeah. How would you like it if I do the things you do. Put you on do not disturb and entertain these dudes." I see Ace look at me as I get into the song "Imma call up Bryann. Imma facetime Ryan. Imma text Lorenzo and imma leave you crying. Don't get it twisted, I can play this game too." "wooooooo get it Nora" I look at him and we both start laughing. We got the chicken minis and we both tore them up. By the time we got to school we were done and still had 30 until school started, so we both stayed in the car. I was reading on my phone while Ace was in his own world. I felt a gentle nudge on my arm and looked up, Ace showed me the time and hopped out the car. He opened my door and held my hand in his. His hand was so warm and felt so big compared to mine. I heard a laugh and didn't notice I was looking at our hands. I look up to see Ace looking at me with a smirk "what" "oh nothing, but if we are going to pretend to date then you have to get used to my touch" "I know" I relaxed my hand in his and walked by his side. When we were walking to my locker, I noticed Ashton. I held onto Ace's hand harder causing him to look at me and he quickly noticed what's wrong. He grabbed me by my waist and pulled me into a kiss. I was surprised but started kissing him back. I then hear someone clear their throat causing me to break the kiss and look up. Standing there was Ashton with his hands crossed "am I interrupting something?" Before I can reply Ace says "Yes, you are. Now if you don't mind, I would like to continue kissing my girlfriend." "Girlfriend?" "Yes, I'm his girlfriend" I answered. Ashton then angrily walked away and slammed the lockers he walked past. I look up to see Ace with a smile on his face. "I really do enjoy making him upset, don't you?" Ace asked, looking at me, causing me to laugh. He walked me to my first class. Since we had almost all of our classes together Ace was with me most of the day.
