Luz and Amity stood outside of the fancy restaurant, clutching each other's hands tightly. This was their first double date with their new friends, Adora and Catra. They had met them through the Interdimensional Council of Princes and Princesses, and despite the initial tension, they had all hit it off.
As they entered the restaurant, they saw Adora and Catra already seated at a table, laughing and chatting animatedly. Adora jumped up when she saw them, grinning widely.
"Hey, guys!" she said, pulling Luz and Amity into a hug. "You look amazing!"
Catra smirked, her tail swishing behind her. "Yeah, you two clean up pretty nicely."
Luz and Amity blushed, feeling suddenly self-conscious. They took their seats, and the waiter came over to take their drink orders. Adora and Catra ordered something called "Catra-tinis," and Luz and Amity decided to try them as well.
The drinks arrived quickly, and soon they were all giggling and sharing stories. Adora and Catra talked about their adventures in Etheria, and Luz and Amity told them about their experiences in the Boiling Isles.
As the night wore on, the conversation turned to more personal topics. Adora and Catra shared stories about their childhoods, and Luz and Amity talked about their hopes and dreams for the future. They all realized that they had a lot in common, despite coming from different worlds.
Finally, as the restaurant was closing, they stumbled out into the cool New Jersey night, arm in arm. The tipsy group stumbled their way down the sidewalk, still chatting and laughing.
Amity leaned into Luz, feeling more confident than she had in a long time. "I'm really glad we came tonight," she said softly.
Luz grinned at her, her eyes sparkling. "Me too. I can't wait to hang out again."
Adora and Catra exchanged a knowing glance, and then grinned at the other couple. "We'll definitely have to do this again soon," Adora said.
Catra nodded. "Yeah, and next time we'll have to go to a club or something."
Luz and Amity's eyes widened, and they exchanged a look of excitement. This was the start of a beautiful friendship.
