Masters Book one: The Start

Chapter sixteen

En shot an arrow at Rey's head, going through his head. "No!" I screamed. Just then, hundreds of Hunters came flooding through the doors running towards me. I ran directly out of the room back onto my fireboard and took off. Timber and En were ambushed on the roof. "No!" I yelled, drawing attention to myself. The Hunters got in cars and followed me. "FireFlight!" I threw myself off the board and flew. My amulet wasn't fulling yet but was almost there. The blue flame was really bright and blinded some of the Hunters. I can't believe that they killed or injured Rey before I could. Well I don't blame them either. He did have me and they were my support so, they did their job. I was halfway to Vegas when I fell to the ground. The Hunters had shot a net over me and I couldn't fly but, I could fight. "Burst! Hands!" I looked at the road and saw hundreds of cars full of Hunters. Standing there, I got ready to fight. "C'mon!" One car drove right passed me. There was no one here to help and I was probably going to die doing this. I shot at the next car, making it flip over and kill all of the Hunters inside. Just then, Hunters surrounded me on every corner. Looking at all of them I just fell to the ground, making them think I had died. "Solar flare." I whispered. Every last Hunter that was there combusted. Guts were spread across the roads and on me. I took out my phone and called Kara.
"Hey Kara."
"Yeah?"
"He's dead. Along with the Hunters."
"Good! Now get here so I can kiss you!" She hung up and I flew to Vegas.
I walked into the room, covered in guts and blood. "Eww." Casey said. "Good to see you Cole." Nick said, smiling and shaking my hand. Despite being covered in blood, Kara kissed me. Now her doing that was something I could get use to. Really. Her lips tasted like the sweetest strawberries on the planet. "I'm glad you made it back alive." She said then going back to kissing me. "The brothers died out there as I ran from some Hunters." I said, holding my head down. Casey patted my arm. "You did your best." She said. "En killed Rey. I think." Nick looked at me concerned.
"They couldn't have. Rey was invincible."
"Well that means he's alive. Even after taking a Sonic Arrow to the head."
"He had to fake it just to bring them onto you."
"Whatever he did, it probably worked."
"Ok maybe he did but if he did, we'll wait for him to attack to do anything."
The darkness of rain clouds and the night came. Kara and I walked over to our room and showered. I finally got the smell of blood and guts off of my clothes by setting them on fire and jumped in bed with Kara. "I'm glad your here." She said as we spooned. I was happy too that I made it out alive. I turned her way and snapped my fingers, lighting the candle next to the bed. Kara started to undress as we flirted with each other. "I just want to touch you." She said softly. "In what ways?" I asked, taking off my shirt, showing off my six pack and tattoo. "In this way." Kara jumped on top of me and well let's just say we had a "Rodeo" earlier tonight. So you know o wake up and it's pretty early in the morning still about 7 or 8 and we're laying watching Cold Justice. A small rock hit the window. Thud. "What the-" Thud. I walked over to the window and saw Nick standing down on the sidewalk. He was waving his hand, motioning me to come down stairs. Just then Nick is snatched by a white Sudan and taken. My eyes widened. I ran in to the bathroom and grabbed my blue plaid pants. Kara came in asking me, "What is going on?" I looked at her, eyes tearing, "They took Nick!" I burst we through the front door and ran down the stairs only to be stopped by three Hunters. Turning around, Ares was standing there, holding Jeffrey and Ciara. "Your coming with us!" He tried punched me in the nose as I quickly dodge the punch. Ares threw the two down to the ground as Casey came up behind him. "Leave him alone!" She started to twist her hand as water spewed onto Ares' back, burning him. "Your not Ares!" I yelled, grabbing the imposter with my right hand. "Burst! Left hand!" I pointed my index that was making a miniature fireball in his face. "Who are you?! Where is Ares?!" I shouted. The imposter stared at me, smiling. "I'm Rey! The leader of the Hunters!" Rey then used Darkplasma to knock me off of my feet and to the ground. Casey was then taken by two of the three Hunters. Our safe haven was no longer safe but a living hell. Rey kicked me out with a fire extinguisher and dragged me to his truck.
