Chapter 4.
“Peej? Are you in?” Phil spoke to the door, knocking lightly on the door of his boyfriend’s house. He was going to do it. He was going to break up with PJ.
They had been together secretly since July but only openly since the 5th December and now it was the 24th. He knew Peej would be fine, they were too close to begin with to make it awkward. Then, the door opened, pulling Phil from his thoughts and revelling a dishevelled looking PJ. He was in his boxers and his Star Wars t-shirt. Peej gasped quietly when he actually realised it was Phil at the door.
“PJ?” Phil said but the word caught in his throat. Why was he wearing his Star Wars top? Only Phil knew he wore that just after... ‘Oh no...’ Phil thought.
“Phil, oh my God, I- I swear it’s not what it looks like” PJ said hurriedly walking out to greet Phil with a worried expression. Phil smiled “Peej, calm down, I know what the Star Wars t-shirt means. I mean, you wore it enough in the summer” Phil winked and PJ blushed “Anyways, I came here to break up with you.” The other boy looked slightly confused. “We were always better friends, do you not think? And I...” Phil couldn’t bring himself to finish the sentence, but luckily or unluckily for him, he didn’t know yet, PJ did. “You like Dan, don’t you?” He said quietly and Phil nodded shyly. PJ pulled Phil into a tight embrace and Phil thought ‘I guess it was luckily then’. “I’m so happy for you!” PJ said brightly as he pulled away. “Thanks” Phil blushed. “PJ, who’s at the door?” A groggy voice rose from behind where PJ was standing and a face peered over his shoulder. “SHIT OMG PHIL I’M SORRY” Carrie started to well up. Phil merely laughed “Aw, Carrie! Don’t cry, we broke up anyway!” Carrie smiled and also stepped forward to hug Phil. “Do you want to come in?” Carrie asked but Phil shook his head. “Nah, I’ve gotta get home, but Dan and I are having a New Year’s Eve party, you guys should totally drop by!” Phil added excitedly and Peej and Carrie eagerly agreed. Phil said his goodbyes and left Peej’s residence and headed straight home.
He just hoped he had made the right decision...
