.chapter three.

it was now the morning, and y/n woke up early to get ready for school. usually, she doesn't care because there was nobody who paid much attention to her. today was an exception though, it was picture day. she did her hair nice, put on some makeup, and most importantly y/n made sure not to look like she got out of bed and came to school. 

she doesn't like taking pictures of herself, but she had to today so she tried her best. out of nowhere, she thought about shidou. what would he think of me today? she shook the thought of out her head, mentally slapping herself as well. ew why him? there so many better ppl smh. 

she walked out of her house and started making her way to school. putting a bit more effort into her appearance made a difference in her attitude as well. she felt rejuvenated, and she finally had a smile on her face. 

the order went by homerooms classes, but in pairs. her homeroom and shidou's were adjacent to each other, so they went to the picture booth at the same time. he spotted her and waited until she was next to him. 

shidou felt devious at the moment, so he grabbed his water bottle and sprayed it at her face with makeup on, and none of it was waterproof. "Shidou! What the hell!", she swiftly went to the bathroom just to see her mascara running down her face. 

she didn't know what to do, so she wiped all of her makeup off with a paper towel and some water from the school bathroom. she was still upset, but she couldn't do anything about it afterwards. oh well, she thought with a big sigh coming after it. 

it was now her turn to take a picture. she managed to muster a smile, but it was obviously fake, and everyone could tell. after school, she would make sure to get his ass back. she was making her way to her first period classroom, which she just had to share with him. 

he saw her walk in, and he saw her upset face. he felt bad now, after realizing what he had done to her. at one point, he even felt like apologizing. he might later, but not in public. class went on as usual with y/n giving shidou dirty looks, and him giving her the same thing back. 

he stopped her during passing period, just to make fun of her, but he thought he should finally apologize, so he did. 

"um... sorry, i dont know why i did that", he said with a face full of shame. he was quite close to her, his arm occasionally brushing hers. she nodded with a small smile and walked away, but he had stopped her by holding onto her wrist gently. 

"are you busy after school? i was thinking you can watch our practice match with (opposing school)."

"um i'll see if i can or not, bye", and with that, she left. in his mind, shidou was celebrating because he finally got the balls to be nice to her for once and invite her somewhere they can spend time together.

its after school, and y/n is making her way to the football pitch. she sees her schools team and the other school's team, and they both look menacing. their eyes give off a threatening look, giving y/n goosebumps.  wow, theyre good , she thought as she made her way to the bleachers. while she was waiting for the match to start, she pulled out her phone and went on her social medias. 

shidou looked in the stands for her, and that's when their eyes met. they both averted their eyes quickly, and then the match started.

the match ended, with y/n's school winning. though she didn't contribute anything, and it was a practice match, she still felt some type of pride for her school. she smiled and made her way down to shower the players in compliments. 

the first person she went to was rin, and she explained how graceful his kick was, and how nothing can ever compare to it. he nodded and almost ignored her, which led her to go to shidou next. 

"you did ok for a cockroach", she said with a shrug of her shoulders and a playful grin. he laughed with her and they made small talk, which they both absolutely hated. none of them liked small talk, but they both went on anyway, still wanted to talk to each other. 

as the e/c eyed girl made her way to the exit of the school, shidou caught up to her. they silently acknowledged each other and walked in a comfortable silence. y/n was the first to break the silence, talking about how she was still upset with him for making her yearbook picture come out bad for no reason, because she didn't even do anything today. 

she put her left airpod in and offered the other one to shidou, which he gladly accepted because she doesn't know what to talk about with her. first song that played was the newest song by (favorite artist), which he also listened to. 

as they finally made it to y/n's house, shidou bid her farewell, but y/n pulled him back, giving him a small hug that was over before he even realized what happened. 

"bye!", she said energetically as she walked off.
