You can now move as Mario and Luigi together. You head to the exit.

Shroob Castle
As you avoid all of the enemies you eventually reach the room that contains the floating orb. Stuffwell jumps out of Mario's pocket and says: "Mario, is this the floating orb you were talking about?" Mario nods. "We should inform the professor about this. Fortunately, we can do that right away." Mario acts confused. Stuffwell then mentions: "Hahaha! Remember how I said I have MANY complex sensors? Allow me to demonstratanate." Stuffwell unfolds and you see a small display, along with a camera. The screen suddenly turns on. We see the professor. "Can you hear me, fellers? Haha, it works! This is one of the MANY things Stuffwell is capable of! Now: did you manage to reach the orb?" Mario nods. "Perfect! Can I see it?" the professor says, and the Bros step aside. The professor examines the orb and says after a moment: "Hmmm... as I suspected. This is indeed the same thing I thought I'd seen before. This is a TELEPORTER! Yessiree, this is a gateway to some place else. A teleporter like this one is always connected to another one, so using this one will send you to the other, which is located somewhere else. Unfortunately, I don't know where to this one would lead you..."

Mario turns to the professor and asks how it works. The professor answers: "Well, if I remember correctly: you just need to walk up to the teleporter, put both of your hands on it (by pressing A) and after a few seconds you should teleport to its counterpart." Mario then asks if it's safe to use. Before the professor can answer, Luigi already put both of his hands on the teleporter. He hadn't listened to what the professor had said. The orb starts to glow brighter, as does Luigi. He doesn't know what's happening, panics and screams for his brother. And then, at once, Luigi is gone. As if he was never there in the first place. Mario and the professor are shocked. The professor says: "Oh no... The feller has teleported away! And there's no way to tell where he went to!"

Stuffwell closes and says: "Mario! We have to use the teleporter too, or else we may not get Luigi back. Who knows what's on the other side!" Mario nods. He then walks up to the teleporter, places his hands on the orb (the game asks you to press A) and, just like how it happened with Luigi, Mario starts to glow and then teleports away.

Looni Gloomi Village
The game cuts to a new area that is called Looni Gloomi Village. This is basically Holli Jolli Village, but it has been completely shroobified. (I haven't made a lay-out for this area yet, but I might make one in the future. For now, if you know what the original Holli Jolli Village looks like: just imagine a darker version of this place. All of the plants and mushrooms are shroobified and there is a lot more purple coloring. The sky looks ominous.)

You start at the same spot as you do when you enter Holli Jolli Village for the first time in the original game. Here is also the other teleporter (another floating orb), that is indeed connected to the one in the castle.

The orb starts to glow brighter and, at once, Mario appears. He looks around him and then sees Luigi laying on the ground a few meters away from the teleporter. He looks unconscious. Mario runs up to him and says his brother's name a few times. Luigi slowly wakes up and sees Mario. He hugs him and breaks down crying.

A while later, Luigi has stopped crying and both Bros look around. Stuffwell then comes out and also looks around, after which he says:  "Oh my... what is this place?" Mario explains and Stuffwell reacts: "So this is called Looni Gloomi Village? That name sounds really depressing, as does this whole place... Well, at least we now know that the teleporter leads to this area. If the Professor is right, this one should send us back to the castle. Let's go back to inform the others." The Bros nod, but just as they're about to go back, something in Mario's pocket starts to vibrate. Mario is confused and takes out the object. It turns out to be the DS Time Radar that the professor had given to Mario. Stuffwell asks: "What is that?" Mario explains and Stuffwell responds: "The DS Time Radar? Okay, well, why is it vibrating?" Mario doesn't have a clue. Stuffwell thinks for a moment and then gets an idea: "Wait, I have an idea! I'll turn on my display again, so we can ask the Professor!" He immediately unfolds and the screen turns on. The professor can be seen, working on a cage. He turns around and runs to his screen. "Wow, fellers, I didn't expect to hear from you so soon! Are you alright? Where are you?" The Bros explain and the professor reacts: "Looni Gloomi Village? That's quite some distance! So that's where that teleporter brought you to... And is there another teleporter nearby?" The Bros nod and they shom the professor the other teleporter. "Splendid! That proves that my theory was correct: these two teleporters are connected to each other! So that means that using that one should send you back to the castle. You should come back to the base, so that we can discuss what to do with this discovery." Mario interrupts the professor and tells him about the DS Time Radar that suddenly started vibrating. The professor says: "Wait... So you're saying that my DS TIme Radar suddenly started vibrating? That means that it must have detected a form of temporal energy! If it started vibrating now, that means that the source is somewhere in the area you're at. I suggest that you find that source of temporal energy! You can contact me again when you find it." The screen turns off and Stuffwell closes himself. He then says to the Bros: "Alright then. I guess we're really gonna to do this. We're gonna have to find this 'temporal source' and it's somewhere in this area. So, let's get BACK TO ADVENTURE!" He then jumps back into Mario's pocket. The latter turns to his brother and says: "Let's -a-go!" Luigi heavily shakes his head. He wants to go back to the base. Mario says that they can't. They have to find this mysterious source. (Side note: this source will NOT be shown on the map. You will have to find it yourself.) If there's even a small change to save Princess Peach and save this doomed world, then they have to take it. This eventually convinces Luigi and he agrees to come along.

You can now move again. The theme that starts to play is a darker modified version of the original Super Mario Bros theme. You go explore the area. When you get to the next segment, here's where you get the tutorials of jumping as Mario and Luigi together as well as the Mario- and Luigi-blocks. (But as I mentioned before: these tutorials are optional to listen to, so you can skip them if you want to.)

When you get to the next segment, Mario and Luigi suddenly hear strange noises coming closer that they then recognise as the Shroob Saucers. They quickly hide in the bushes near them. This works, and the Shroob Saucers don't spot them. (When these saucers appear, you will notice that look noticably different than the ones you saw earlier in the game. They look stronger, more powerful.) They then fly away. When they're gone, Mario and Luigi come out of the bushes. Both of them sigh relieved. Mario says to Luigi that must keep going. Luigi nods and their journey continues.

The next segment is the giant purple mushrooms. This is the first part of this area that contains enemies: the Shrooblets. These are the first non-boss enemies in the game that are weak enough for you to fight.

When you get to the first mushroom that the Shrooblets are walking on, Stuffwell says: "Mario!" after which he jumps out of Mario's pocket and continues: "I understand you urgency, but who knows the dangers ahead? It would be prudent to get you battle-ready before moving on! And if I analyse those creatures... They are the perfect practice for you. You should be able to take them on. Mario! Jump on that bulboid thing!"  The game then asks you to press A once. You do this and you jump on the Shrooblet and the fight starts. This will happen the exact same way as it did in the original game, with the only change that you are now not obligated to listen to the jump- and dodge-tutorial.

You defeat the Shrooblet and continue your journey. There are more Shrooblets along the way and you can defeat them or ignore them and just move on. (Now, normally, at this point in the game, Stuffwell would teach you how to heal yourself outside of battle. This won't happen now, but it will occurr some time later.) As you reach the biggest and highest mushroom, you will spot something in the middle of it. You walk closer. Mario feels the DS Time Radar in his pocket vibrating again, but this time it's much stronger. He takes it out of his pocket and a few seconds later Stuffwell jumps out. He looks at Mario and asks: "Mario, do you think this is the temporal source the Professor spoke about?" Mario nods. Stuffwell reacts: "Then we need to contact the Professor right away!" Stuffwell then unfolds again and activates the display. The professor can be heard saying: "Have you found the source, fellers?" Mario responds that they have, and they show it to him. The professor is shocked and says: "Oh my-, that's a TIME HOLE! Yessiree, this Time Hole is a doorway to the past!" Mario asks how that is even possible. The professor theorises:  "Hmm... my theory is that it's caused by the return of the time machine. It's possible that its return tore holes in the time continuum..." You then see Toadsworth popping on the screen. He says: "What is that, you say? A 'Time Hole' that leads into the past? Maybe you masters can use this to save the princess!" The professor thinks for a moment before responding: "Hmm, now there's an idea. I'd bet dollars to donuts that's our best chance at saving her. Question is, to WHERE would it lead you?!  The other question is, if a feller were to jump in, could he even make it back..." The Bros think. Toadsworth looks at them and says: "Masters Mario and Luigi, I normally would not ask you to do something abolutely rubbish like this, but I beg you. Please, use this Time Hole to rescue Princess Peach! This might be the only chance to save her!" Mario turns to Luigi and asks him if he's willing to keep on going. Luigi hesitates, but eventually nods his head. "Good luck, fellers!" the professor says and Toadsworth says:  "Good luck, Masters Mario and Luigi!", after which Stuffwell closes again. He says: "Alright, then. Let's get going. When you're ready, jump into the Time Hole." He then jumps back into Mario's pocket. The Bros look at each other, and they get ready to jump into the Time Hole. You can now move again and you jump in, going back in time.

(You may have noticed that I haven't talked about the village in this area at all, as that is the only part you haven't visited yet. The reason for that is that you are currently unable to reach that part, as it is blocked off by a large wall. If you walk up to the wall BEFORE jumping into the Time Hole, Stuffwell will jump out of Mario's pocket and say: "This wall prevents us from entering the village. Our best course of action for now is to use the Time Hole and rescue the Princess." He then jumps back into Mario's pocket and you can move again.)

(I hope you like this chapter! I might make some changes here and there in the future.)
