Jungwon looked at Y/n with a curious expression on his face. "Why do you ask?"
Y/n shrugged. "I don't know, I just thought she might be."
Jungwon chuckled. "Well, she's been giving me the cold shoulder lately, so I would say she's definitely feeling something. But don't worry, Y/nie. It's just a game, remember?"
Y/n nodded, trying to push away any thoughts of Minji's jealousy. "Right, just a game."
Jungwon sat up, facing Y/n. "But if it bothers you, we can always end it."
Y/n's heart skipped a beat at the thought of ending their fake relationship. She had grown used to being around Jungwon and the attention he gave her. "No, it's fine. Let's just keep going."
Jungwon nodded, a small smile on his face. "Okay, let's keep playing."
They continued to watch TV, with Jungwon's head still resting on Y/n's lap. Y/n couldn't help but think that maybe, just maybe, this fake relationship was starting to feel a little too real.
Jungwon watched as Y/n gathered her things and made her way to the door. He felt a pang of disappointment as she left without explaining her sudden change of mood. He knew that their relationship was fake, but he had grown used to her presence and enjoyed spending time with her.
As Y/n reached for the door handle, Jungwon spoke up, "Y/n, wait."
She turned around to face him, raising an eyebrow in question.
"I just wanted to say that I'm sorry if I said something wrong or if I made you uncomfortable. I didn't mean to, I just enjoy spending time with you."
Y/n softened at his words, realizing that she had overreacted. "No, it's not that. I just remembered that I have a test tomorrow, and I need to study for it. I'm sorry for leaving so suddenly."
Jungwon nodded, understanding. "No worries. Good luck with your test tomorrow."
"Thanks," Y/n replied before opening the door and stepping out into the hallway.
Jungwon couldn't shake the feeling that something was off, but he didn't want to push it. He decided to give her some space and wait for her to reach out to him. As he sat back down on the couch, he couldn't help but wonder if their fake relationship was starting to feel more real than they had both intended.
~ A week later ~
A week had passed since Y/n had left Jungwon's apartment after taking care of him from his wild night of drinking. Despite the close proximity they shared that night, they hadn't spoken to each other since then.
Jungwon couldn't shake the thought of Y/n out of his mind. He didn't want the fake relationship they had created to end so soon, especially since he knew it was making his ex-girlfriend jealous. So, he made it his mission to find Y/n at the university.
He searched high and low, checking every corner and hallway until he finally found her at her locker. She was just closing it shut when he approached her from behind, wrapping his arms around her waist and back-hugging her tightly.
"Hey there, Y/n," Jungwon said with a playful grin, nuzzling his nose into her hair. "I've been looking for you everywhere. Why have you been avoiding me?"
Y/n's heart fluttered at the sudden contact. She could feel Jungwon's breath on her neck, sending shivers down her spine. She cleared her throat before answering, "I haven't been avoiding you, Jungwon. I've just been busy with classes and assignments."
Jungwon raised an eyebrow skeptically, "Really? Because I've seen you walking around campus, and you always seem to disappear whenever I get close."
Y/n couldn't deny the fact that she had been purposely avoiding Jungwon. She knew that their fake relationship was just a means to an end for him, and she didn't want to get hurt in the process.
"I...I just thought it would be best if we kept our distance," Y/n admitted, feeling her cheeks turn red. "I didn't want to make things complicated."
Jungwon chuckled softly, pulling Y/n even closer to him. "Complicated? Y/n, you have no idea how complicated things already are. But that's okay. We can figure it out together."
Y/n felt her heart swell at Jungwon's words. Despite their fake relationship, she couldn't deny the attraction she felt towards him. And maybe, just maybe, there was a chance for something real to blossom between them.
As they stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, Y/n couldn't help but wonder what the future held for them. But for now, she was content to just enjoy the warmth and comfort of Jungwon's embrace.
Y/n's heart sank as she saw Jungwon's ex-girlfriend approaching them. She knew that their fake relationship was just a ploy to make her jealous, but she couldn't help feeling self-conscious and uncomfortable in the situation.
Jungwon, on the other hand, didn't seem fazed at all. In fact, he tightened his grip on Y/n's waist and leaned in to whisper in her ear, making it more obvious that they were "dating."
"Hey, babe," he said, loud enough for his ex-girlfriend to hear. "I've missed you."
Y/n tried to keep her cool, playing along with Jungwon's act. She smiled up at him, hoping to make it look like they were really a couple. It was all for show, she reminded herself.
Jungwon's ex-girlfriend gave them a once-over before rolling her eyes and walking away. Y/n breathed a sigh of relief, grateful that the encounter was over. But as she turned to face Jungwon, she saw the glint of mischief in his eyes.
"Looks like our plan is working," he said with a smirk. "She's definitely jealous."
Y/n felt a pang of guilt as she realized that she was just a pawn in Jungwon's game. But at the same time, she couldn't deny the thrill of excitement that came with the attention and affection he was showing her.
As they walked down the hallway, arm in arm, Y/n couldn't help but wonder how long this charade would last. She knew that their fake relationship was just that - fake. But there was a part of her that wished it could be real.
Jungwon, on the other hand, seemed to be enjoying himself. He kept up the act, holding Y/n close and whispering sweet nothings in her ear. Y/n couldn't deny the flutter of butterflies in her stomach every time he did so.
It was all a game, Y/n reminded herself. But as she looked up at Jungwon, she couldn't help but wonder if maybe, just maybe, there was a chance for something real to develop between them.
As Jungwon and Y/n continued down the hallway, arm in arm, they suddenly heard a group of voices calling out to them. It was Jungwon's friends - Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Niki.
"Hey, lovebirds!" Heeseung called out, his voice carrying over the din of the crowded hallway. "How's the fake relationship going?"
Jungwon grinned, looking over at Y/n. "It's going great, actually," he said, his voice laced with amusement. "I think we're really starting to sell it, don't you think?"
Y/n felt a blush creeping up her cheeks as she realized that they were being watched by Jungwon's friends. She had never been one for attention, and the thought of all these people looking at her and talking about her made her feel a little uncomfortable.
But as the group of friends gathered around them, she realized that they were all incredibly friendly and welcoming. They asked her about her classes, her interests, and even her favorite books. Y/n found herself laughing and joking along with them, feeling more at ease than she had in a long time.
As they chatted, Y/n couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness. She knew that this was all temporary - that soon enough, she would have to return to her quiet, solitary life as a bookish nerd. But for now, she was content to bask in the warmth and companionship of Jungwon and his friends.
Eventually, the group dispersed, and Jungwon and Y/n were left alone once more. Jungwon turned to her, a playful glint in his eye.
"Looks like you're fitting right in with my friends," he said with a smile. "Maybe this fake relationship thing isn't so bad after all."
Y/n smiled back at him, feeling a warmth spreading through her chest. Maybe he was right. Maybe this fake relationship could be the start of something real. But for now, she was just happy to have some company and maybe even a few new friends.
