Chapter 3: The Importance of Preparation
The process of communicating with spirits was not one that could be taken lightly. In order to successfully summon a spirit and gain their guidance, it was important to prepare properly.
The first step in the process was to ensure that the spirits were willing to communicate. This required performing a ritual or incantation that would call out to the spirits and invite them to communicate. This could be done by lighting candles, burning incense, or performing a specific ritual that was said to attract the spirits.
Once the spirits were summoned, the medium would enter into a trance-like state in which they would be open to the spirit's messages. This state was often achieved through meditation or by consuming mind-altering substances such as drugs or alcohol.
Once in a trance-like state, the medium would often use a number of different methods to communicate with the spirits. These methods could include using a crystal ball, a Ouija board, or even simply speaking to the spirits out loud and recording their answers in a journal or on a cassette tape.
It was also important for the medium to have a strong mental and emotional state in order to be able to communicate with spirits effectively. Any fears, doubts, or negative emotions could interfere with the messaging process, and it was important to clear the mind and make room for the spirits' messages.
While communicating with spirits was seen as a powerful tool for gaining insight and guidance, it was also a dangerous practice that required a great deal of caution and preparation. A medium who was not properly prepared could find themselves vulnerable to the influence of dark spirits or malicious forces. It was important to always approach the practice with a sense of respect and reverence, and to always be aware of the potential consequences of summoning spirits.
