Waking up on a day like this felt daunting but also exciting. Kaia was nervous about the mission, but she felt like she was doing something important. She had never felt something like this before.
She arrived at the Hokage's office right on time. Lady Tsunade sent her to another room to be dressed and fixed up to look like the Princess.
While Kaia was being prepared, her teammates arrived. Tsunade decided to give them a run down of the important things they should know.
"Now remember, you may not speak to Kaia. You will refer to her as Princess Katsumi, and you are security only. She may endure some difficulties, I'm not sure how far Lord Hiroshi will take things but you can not step in no matter what. She insisted she can handle whatever they throw at her. This land still follows the outdated and sexist traditional ways, involving servitude from the women, and physical punishments, so things could be a bit intense. Why Lord Touma would ever let his daughter go to a place like this is beyond me, but this is as much as we can do to help."
Shizune then peeked into the room, "Milady, she's ready."
Tsunade nodded at her and then turned to Guy, Neji, and Lee. "Alright gentleman, here's your Princess for the mission."
Kaia entered the room, she was in a beautiful purple kimono. Rather than her signature braid, her dark red hair was let down, flowing elegantly down just above her waist. She had a calm look on her face.
Lee was starstruck, unable to move or say a thing. Guy noticed Lee's nerves and shouted out, "A vision of beauty! You make a wonderful Princess!"
Kaia bowed to him calmly with no expression, then looked up, sticking her tongue out and laughing a bit, feeling completely unlike herself dressed like this.
As they all prepared things outside in the caravan to head out, Lee stepped over to Kaia.
"Since I won't be able to talk to you once we leave, I wanted to tell you I think you will do a wonderful job. And if things should go south, I will protect you with my life."
Kaia smiled at him, and gave him a hug. They held each other for a minute before letting go.
Kaia started climbing into the carriage and as Lee started to walk away he turned around with a blush across his cheeks.
"Also, I would like you to know you make a very beautiful Princess."
Kaia also blushed as she made her way fully into the carriage.
The journey was uneventful but they made good timing to the Land of Valleys. As they entered they were attacked briefly, but Guy's team made short work of it, without even having to kill anyone. They all assumed this was the rebellion they were warned about.
They were the people who detested the Lord and sought his removal from the throne. They would support the Prince but they had given up hope on his rise to power, despite his upcoming marriage.
When they arrived at Lord Hiroshi's palace they all could feel the hostility they were met with. Lord Hiroshi claimed it was an insult to his honor for Lord Touma to hire ninjas of the leaf village to accompany his daughter. He still allowed them in, despite his negative attitude.
Kaia exited the carriage and bowed to him properly. She bowed low, then went down on her knees as if to pray to him. He approached her and she held her hands out. He reached out his hands and she kissed them both.
"Princess Katsumi, it is wonderful to finally meet you," he said.
Kaia bowed her head again.
"This is my son, Prince Haru." Hiroshi said.
