"NOVA!" I LOOKED UP FROM MY BOOK WHEN MY DOOR WAS SLAMMED OPEN and Molly ran inside, her eyes frantic as they immediately found my own.
I had been laying on top of my made bed, peacefully enjoying reading. I had already gone to the bookstore today which was the only thing on my list of to do's. So i had the rest of the day free and was enjoying it, up until then.
"What's wrong?" I asked my younger sister curiously. I put my bookmark in my book and gave her my full attention as I sat up.
"I think poppy's has a bad idea planned for today, you know, dad's girlfriend moving in" sighing, i got out of my bed and both me and my sister went to Poppy's room but when we walked in there Poppy was still asleep. I was mostly grateful, that meant there was no planning. And neither me or Molly had to worry about what the day would entail.
"Nothing" Molly mumbled confused.
"Maybe she changed her mind" i shrugged. Maybe my sister would actually welcome our dad's girlfriend. Molly didn't seem too convinced but didn't say anything else.
"Maybe. You want to make something to eat with me?" I was thinking about going back to my book but i did like spending time with Molly too. So i nodded and we both went down to the kitchen.
"Pancakes?" I questioned looking inside the cupboards and realising we had all the ingredients. Molly's eyes brightened at that.
"Yes!" I smiled and got out the ingredients needed and then i got to measuring and pouring everything into a bowl. "Can i have mine with chocolate chips?" Molly asked leaning on the kitchen counter resting her hand on her palm.
"Sure. Pass me a pan please?" Molly knelt down and picked it up before handing it to me and i turned the cooker on.
But just as i sprayed the pan and allowed it to heat up poppy walked in the kitchen.
"Have you guys forgotten today's the day rosemary moves in?" Poppy asked and me and Molly shared a look.
"We didn't" i replied with a smile as i poured the batter in the pan.
