Meghan had been Shawn's one true love during high school, something that he always felt would never change. But due to circumstances, Shawn and Meghan had ultimately parted ways and drifted apart. Now, nearly a decade later, Shawn was in prison, serving time for his crime of reckless endangerment.
Although Shawn had plenty of time to repent for his actions, nothing made him feel more guilty or tortured than not being able to express his love to Meghan. She was his only thought while in prison, and he often reminisced about the simpler times long ago at high school.
Despite his love for her, Shawns's behaviour had changed drastically and had become unstable. As a result, he had become a yandere - an obsessive and possessive person who craved nothing but to feel close to Meghan again. He wanted to ensure that no other man ever laid hands on her and that she remained his only love.
On the rare occasion that he had visitors, Shawn would talk at great length about Meghan and how he wished to escape from prison so he could go seek her out. He was aware that what he did was wrong and crazy, but he still yearned for her. He looked out at the sky each night, hoping to see her beauty one more time when freedom eventually came his way.
