Some Information

This specific plot bunny has just been eating away at me for a long while, and I just needed to get this specific book written and done. So this book will be a standalone for a while.

I do have vague outlines for carrying this story past just the game this book follows. There is more I will want to explore in life after the games(the parade, mentoring, navigating public life, and just overall healing). My characters have a lot of stories left. However, I am still in the process of writing another big series and am not ready to tackle the rest of this yet.

This book does have its own complete story. It can be read alone. There is no cliffhanger ending that leaves you wanting a second book immediately. If you fall in love with my MC, then you may want to see the rest of her story... and I fully intend to come back someday and give my characters a more complete story... but I want to highlight that this book can work as a standalone. I don't want there to be some fear that you'll just be left hanging on some "who lives, who dies" question.

The first chapter, "The One To Watch," is weirdly structured and written by design. It is in the form of Caesar kinda giving a play-by-play of the reapings. My "normal" writing style takes over after that when we really start following my POV character.
