"Can you guys like get out of my classroom? I love you guys, I swear, but I'm trying to work on something. Plus, you need to be at lunch," Maddox groaned, sitting at his classroom desk with his legs crossed.
Running around the risers of the choir room were 3 of Maddox's students. They were 8th graders that ranged from 13 to 14 years old. The boys constantly would bother Maddox during lunch or his prep period, and it was pretty annoying. The three were yelling and chasing each other all over the risers.
One of the boys stopped running for a second and turned to look at Maddox. This was the one that was actually average height for an 8th grader. He had light brown skin, short black hair, and dark brown eyes. He looked Maddox dead in the eyes. It was silent and the two just made prolonged eye contact for a few awkward moments before he finally spoke.
"No," the boy replied bluntly and then went back to running around the risers with his friends, who hadn't stopped running or yelling once.
"Uh-" Maddox then sighed and laid his head down on his desk, face first.
After a few moments of rethinking his life choices, Maddox got up from his desk and approached the boys. The boys quit running to look at Maddox, but were still yelling and laughing like idiots.
"Leave," Maddox pointed at the door to his classroom.
"But, Mr. Artiso! The school food sucks, and we want you to give us food!" One of the boys, the shortest one, complained.
"Seriously? You came here to annoy me so I'll give you food?" Maddox had a look of disappointment on his face.
The boys looked at one another and then shrugged. "Basically," the tallest one replied casually.
"Will you leave me alone if I give you food?" Maddox asked, crossing his arms.
They all nodded in response.
Maddox thought for a moment and then sighed. "Okay, come on. You three are lucky I care about you so much, because if I didn't I would've written you up by now," he began to head towards the closet in the choir room.
The boys cheered and followed after Maddox. They seemed pretty happy that they were going to get food.
Maddox opened the door to the closet. It was a big closet. There were some stacked chairs, boxes, music stands, and a bunch of other stuff scattered around it. It was kind of a mess, actually. Maddox flipped the light on and walked over to a certain box and opened it.
"The most I have in here is snacks and some warm sodas and water," Maddox shrugged, still looking through the box.
"We'll take what we can get," the short boy shrugged.
"Alright. Why do I have a huge bag of Doritos?" Maddox muttered to himself, picking up one of those huge bags of Doritos from out of the box.
He glanced at the bag and then at the boys, who were eagerly waiting for some food. "Do you guys like Doritos?" Maddox asked them.
All three of them nodded. Maddox shrugged and handed the bag to them. He then went to another box and dug through it.
"What drinks do you like? There's water, Coke, Dr. Pepper, Sprite, a singular bottle of Fanta for some reason," Maddox asked them.
