In the same day, we had to shoot the water puppet scene, as well as the introduction to John, and the scene where Sinh finds out Amanda's real identity. All the scenes were shot out of order and would be put together later like a puzzle, and music would be added. The trailer also had to be made. If I was back at home and didn't choose this line of work, the moment I saw the trailer, I would be instantly interested, mainly for the Asian element and for the attractive male lead.
Who I was a bit afraid to face. We were on the sidewalk on a street in Da Nang, and the bus used as the tour bus was parked right next to us. The scene was, that Amanda would get off the bus and find out that the new member to their group is her ex-boyfriend who was there to win her back. Of course, Sinh was unhappy about this since he now had some competition.
The cast for the tour group was there, as well as Thanh, Ben and Scott, who had just arrived. He instantly found me but didn't come over to me. He took me seriously, apparently, and was giving me space to think this through.
I knew I was being stupid in pushing him away. Only a few days ago, I went on and on about how I was afraid that we would be apart eventually. Now, I was intentionally staying away from him.
But my gaze was always on him. I watched as a stylist ran a comb through his back hair that would be left down for the scene. For the remainder of the movie, he would have his hair pulled back. That was what I heard.
His gaze caught mine, and I quickly looked away. I turned around and walked over near the entrance to the bus, where Rachael was. The scene would start out inside the bus, then would move outside with Amanda being the last off, and that would be when John makes his surprise appearance.
"Hey, Sophia," Rachael greeted me, and she was in a pretty red spaghetti strap dress.
"Hey, Rachael."
She noticed the down look on my face, and her expression turned gentle. "I heard what's been going on with you and Scott. I'm so sorry."
I nodded grimly as I leaned against the side of the bus. "Yeah. I know you told me to have faith, but... I just..."
"You're scared. It's okay. And you know? Scott is being patient. He wants you to work this out."
"But he's unhappy about it. I can feel it."
Steven called for everyone to get into place, mainly the tour group getting on the bus. They all did so as I stepped out of the way, and Scott was the last one on. He looked over at me, gave me a small smile, then went onto the bus. The scene played out as everyone got off the bus, and Ben was there, ready. Rachael came off, and Ben made the introduction.
"Do you know Amanda?" asked the British woman.
"Yeah, I'm her boyfriend," Ben said as John, and since I was behind a camera, I could see on the screen that Scott's features turned pretty grim.
