It is always incredibly shocking and disturbing when someone close to you suddenly reveals they're dying. After the shock wears off comes the questions and tears. The "how are you so sure" and "don't be so cynical". Then the "can we do anything for?" and "what should we do after?". And "we're not gonna be okay without you".
And "how can you just leave us like this?".
