The whispers echoed while Boruto felt uncomfortable standing away from everyone's eyes with his friends with him. Naurto stood on his stone face while everyone in the crowd looked at him confusingly.
They wondered why Lord Seventh has brought a traitor back to the village. Of course, they never knew what happened.
"You all must be wondering why Boruto is back in Konoha. " Naruto declared making the whispers stop. "Well, there is a huge and a reasonable reason behind it. " He added.
"Whatever he did untill now was to protect us. He risked his own life and protected us-"
"You feeling good? " Shikadai asked as he put his hand on Boruto's shoulder.
"They're not going to accept me. They're not gonna understand. " He whispered and recieved a slap on his head from Iwabe due to which he nearly fell.
"Don't be an electron, bro! "
"He's right, Boruto. " Chocho smiled at him. "And cheer up! " She slapped him on shoulder. "And eat these new flavoured chips. " She offered him the packet and everyone's eyes went wide.
Chocho? Sharing the packet of her chips?! Woah, it has to be a dream!
Boruto chuckled and took the whole packet. "Hey! Only one! " Chocho warned.
"You should've thought about it earlier. " Boruto smirked and ate the whole packet of chips IN FRONT OF CHOCHO!
"Oh Boruto, you don't want to be dead before everyone acknowledges you. Right? " Sarada said as she pushed him in front of everyone right after Naruto called him.
Boruto's breath stopped as he saw the amount of people in front of him. He felt goosebumps as he heard the people cheering.
For him.
THREE DAYS LATER
"So boys and girls! " Sarada yelled while the others stood obediently in front of her. "Now we have a mission. The most dangerous and the most important! " She declared.
Inojin was on the tree with Mituski. Chocho and Shikadai were sitting on the ground while Himawari was standing under the tree.
"Is this mission to open the eyes of that blind dragon? " Chocho asked eating her chips.
"Exactly. The dragon sure is blind, but he can kill you in less than a second. " Sarada answered. "But if you want to be safe, you'll just have to say a spell, it will make him all red and he'll not be able to attack you. " Sarada smirked.
"And where are we gonna find this dragon exactly? " Inojin asked.
"At Boruto's house. "
***
"Hello, Aunty. " Sarada greeted with a smile as soon as Hinata opened the door. "Um- I would like to meet Boruto, is he in there? " She asked while Hinata smiled.
"Sure. " She made space for Sarada to come inside and closed the door. "He must be in his room. You go there and I'll make something for you. " She smiled softly.
"Thank you so much, Aunty. " Sarada said as she ran upstairs while Hinata smirked.
***
"Wait- no- Not happening! " Sumire warned as she ran away from Chocho who was convincing her to get ready for the date with Kawaki they arranged.
"Sumire- c'mon! We need to make the dragon red so he can't kill us! " Chocho shouted getting on Sumire's bed and Sumire getting off.
"What the heck is that dragon thing?! " Sumire yelled as Chocho came down and she climbed the bed.
"It's a very important mission! "
"No Chocho! "
***
"Mom I said I wanted to sleep-" Boruto stopped when he saw Sarada standing outside his room looking at him weirdly. He rubbed his eyes to confirm if he's seeing what he think he's seeing. "Sarada? "
"Seriously? You're waking up now? " She sighed as she entered the room and cringed. "At least keep your room clean! " She scolded while Boruto yawned and sat on his chair.
"I don't have enough energy to do that. " He yawned again.
"You really look like Shikadai right now. " Sarada chuckled while Boruto smiled softly seeing her as he rested his chin on his palm.
He eagerly waited all those years to hear her laugh and see her smile. He longed to tell her how much he loves her. But that now is the time, he's hesitating. He's just scared... of something. something he don't know of.
Suddenly a thought of a person came in his mind sending chills down his spine.
Yeah, yeah, as if Sasuke would allow Boruto to date Sarada!
"Boruto! I'm talking to you right now! " Sarada scolded as she noticed that he was lost in his own world.
Little did she know? The wolrd he was lost in was her?
"Oh- I- Uh, I was just- thinking about something. " He smiled sheepishly making Sarada look at him with her left eyebrow raised. That made him sweat.
"Alright, leave it. " She sighed. "There's a very important mission. " She said seriously. "A dragon has lost his mind. We have to help him find that. The dragon is really dangerous, he can kill you in a second. But if we say a spell, he'll get red and will be unable to harm us. " She completed while Boruto burst out laughing.
"Is that- is that dragon Kawaki? "
"Yeah. " Sarada chuckled. "And Sumire is the spell. " Boruto laughed even more. Sarada smiled hearing his melody-like laugh after a lot of years.
"Let me guess. You were the one who came up with this idea, right? " He asked controlling his laughter. Sarada nodded. "Genius, ya know. " He chuckled.
"Alright, serious time now. "
"Yeah. "
"You'll have to convince Kawaki to wear something good enough for a date. "
"A date-?! " Oops, he fell from the chair. Sarada hit her own forehead and helped him get up. He held her hand and stood back.
"Hush! Be low! " Sarada scolded.
"A date?! " He whisper shouted. "How the hell can you all plan this without me?! "
"You were asleep! " She hit Boruto's forehead.
Both of them suddenly realized how close they were actually standing. Boruto stared in her oynx eyes behind the red glasses. While Sarada stared back in those ocean blue eyes. The eyes that, once again, seemed darker than the Seventh's.
Boruto observed her every feature; her small nose, her beautiful eyes, her pink cheeks and plump lips.
Sarada's breath hitched as she noticed where his eyes went. Her hands felt sweaty while she felt her body stiff.
"Boruto, Sarada. Come and eat-" Hinata gasped making Boruto and Sarada stand far away from eachother with red faces. "Oh I'm so sorry- I should've knocked-"
"Mom! It's not what you're thinking! " Boruto screeched with his hands up for defence.
"I'm really sorry kids- I was just-"
"Aunty, aunty! It's really not what you're thinking! " Sarada whined.
"It's- it's not? "
"No! " Both of them shook their heads. Hinata sighed in relief.
"I'm sorry. Come down and eat. " She smiled and left, closing the door behind her, making the atmosphere in the room awkward.
"Um- Sarada-" Before he could complete, Sarada ran out of the room flushed. Yeah, it has happened before. But it's totally different this time.
If Sasuke finds out, Boruto will be dead.
"Oh no, I knew I shouldn't have done that! " Boruto hit himself repeatedly. He thinks that she's mad at him for whatever he did.
Genius, ain't he?
Hope you like this chapter.
