Chapter Five

TW: Child loss

Hondo walked towards Chimney in anger. "Did you seriously tell Danny about her miscarriage?"

Bucky, Eddie, and Bobby all looked at Chim before glancing at each other.

Chim sighed. "Look, she wasn't sure when Sam was going to be home, and she needed support, so I told Danny."

"That's not your call, Chim. Jessi makes the call on if she tells Danny anything."

Chim stood up in anger and moved closer to Hondo. "No, as her friend who was there as she was bleeding, it's my job to make sure she has support while the man who loves her is out putting his job before her. AGAIN!"

Hondo glared at him, stepping closer. "What the hell is that supposed to mean?"

Eddie stepped up, getting between the two. "Hondo back up, don't hit Chim. You were sent here to talk, not beat his ass."

Buck sighed. "Chim, you know she's happy for Sam. She insisted he go help Captain America."

Chim started tearing up. "She almost died, Buck. My friend almost died by herself..if the four of us.." Chim gestured to Hen, Sam, and Gee. "Hadn't been visiting.."

Bobby sat down in shock. "Fuck." He muttered.

Buck sighed. "I know Chim. Just..from now on let Jessi tell Danno in her own time okay?"

"Fine!" Chim responded.

~With Jessi~

Danny pointed a finger at Jessi. "You.." He took a breath. "Don't yell, Danny. Don't yell." He muttered turning away.

Steve sighed sitting beside Jessi. "Jessi I wish you had told us. We would have been here immediately."

Jessi tried not to cry. "Stevie I love you both but I just wanted to be alone. I'm lucky those four left when their vacation ended."

Sam swallowed looking away. Bucky watched the group and looked down at his hands.

"We're family Jessi. That baby would have been just as important as you are." Steve stated taking her hand.

Jessi nodded wiping her eyes. "I know and I love you both but I needed time before I told Sam and to process. I was gonna tell you both soon. I promise."

Danny sighed. "I get it I guess. Do you need anything?" He rubbed his face then cupped his sister's face. "How about some of mom's Matzo soup?"

Jessi sniffles and giggled. "Sure Danno."

He smiled and kissed the top of her head before looking at Sam. "Alright. Sammy comes with me to the store, then gets out of the kitchen. My baby sister needs ma's Matzo soup." Danny then looked at Steve and pointed at him. "Steve..don't do anything stupid."

Steve rolled his eyes, watching them leave. "I don't do stupid things." He muttered.

Jessi laughed and shook her head.
