Ken's pov
Ken sat at her desk and got out her class notebook. She watched the students as they filed into the class, trying to determine if one of them was her stalker. A minute before the bell rang a boy walked in. He had unruly, dirty blonde hair and pale skin. His eyes were bluish grey and bloodshot. He wore ripped, baggy jeans, a wrinkled t-shirt, and an old looking aviator jacket. He had faint dusting of stubble on his jaw. He was so tall that his head nearly hit the doorframe as he walked in.
He was scrawny and scruffy but in a cute way, like a stray kitten. She could swear he smiled at her before he sat down behind her. She couldn't believe she never noticed him before since he doesn't exactly blend in.
Class started and Ken had to at least pretend to pay attention. But One thing was really bothering her. She had a nagging feeling that she knew him from somewhere. She tried to shake the thought away, but her mind kept
going back to him anyway. She went through her classes like this til 7th period. History, her favorite subject. The teacher stood in the front of the class. "Alright kiddos. Remember what I said Friday, today we'll be assigning partners for the battle project. Now pick which Civil War battle you want to cover. Then sit at the table with the paper that has that battle on it." Ken stood up and walked over to the table with the paper labeled 'The Battle of Shiloh' and sat down. She was spacing out and didn't notice him until the boy sat down. "Hey I'm Nathan." The boy in front of her said smiling. Ken immediately recognized him as the boy from first period. "Oh I'm Ken, I don't think we've talked before"She said nervously. 'This boy is cute and nice!' She thought. They dived into the project talking about the battles and comparing notes. By the end of class they were laughing and joking with each other. "See you tomorrow Nate" said the girl "yeah see ya" he smiled.Nathan's pov
'Oh my god' he thought as he walked out of the school building. 'I can't believe I actually talked to her! She's so sweet, but of course I already knew that. What if she doesn't like me anymore when she finds out who I am?' His thought his mind spiraling. 'I'll need to disguise my voice when I call her, otherwise she might figure out it's me. I want to tell her eventually but it's too soon.'
He tried to shake off those thoughts as he got in his truck and headed home. The elementary school lets out 25 minutes after the high school so he had time before he had to pick up Janet.
As he drove he could see Ken walking home with some other kids from her neighborhood. He knew It was about a 20 minute walk to her house. He drove up to her and slowed down next to her on the street. He rolled down the passenger side window and called out to her. "Hey Ken do you want me to drive you home?" She looked over a little alarmed but then smiled when she saw who it was. "Oh hey Nate, sure thank you." She smiled and hopped into the passenger seat. "No problem" he said starting towards her house. They talked until they arrived at her
house. She smiled, said her thanks and got out. She waved him goodbye when she got to the door.
He smiled and waved back before driving away. She didn't realize until she got halfway to her bedroom. She never told him her address...She tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. 'Maybe he's been through my neighborhood before' but how would he know which house was mine unless he saw me go in before? Has he been watching me?' She thought, her anxiety building. 'Wait' she thought 'Maybe he's my stalker' her anxiety turned to excitement. 'He's cute and really nice. I guess I wouldn't mind him being my stalker' she giggled thinking about it. She continued walking to her room. She laid on her bed, still thinking about Nathan and her stalker. She decided to keep her suspicions about Nate a secret. She just hoped if he really was her stalker he'd tell her when he was ready.
She went through her daily routine with that thought still in the back of her mind. She hoped that her stalker would call soon.
