Jack paced back and forth in his room, his mind racing. He had overheard a conversation between some pack members about Alpha Joseph looking for a girl who could be his mate, and Jack knew exactly who they were talking about: Elena.
He had promised Nick and his own father that he wouldn't tell anyone where Elena had gone, or anything about her, but now that he knew Joseph was looking for her, he felt torn. Part of him wanted to keep his promise and protect Elena, but another part of him felt like Joseph had a right to know if this girl was his mate.
Jack sat down on his bed, rubbing his temples in frustration. He had never been good at keeping secrets, especially ones that weighed heavily on him like this. But he couldn't just go blabbing about Elena's whereabouts without thinking of the consequences.
Finally, after much internal debate, Jack made up his mind. He would go to Joseph and tell him everything he knew about Elena and where she was hiding. It wasn't fair for Joseph to be left in the dark about his potential mate, and Jack knew he had to do the right thing, even if it meant going against his father's wishes.
With a deep breath, Jack stood up and made his way to Joseph's office, his heart pounding with nervousness and anticipation.

Jack arrived at Joseph's office, his face grim and serious. Joseph could sense the tension emanating from him.
"Jack, what brings you here?" Joseph asked.
"I'm not sure if I'm doing the right thing by coming here, but I feel like you should know what's going on."
Joseph nodded for Jack to continue, sensing the urgency in his tone.
"The girl that you have been looking for... Do you really think that she might be your mate"
Joseph's eyes widened at the question. "Yes, I really believe she might be, why? Do you have any information about her?" Joseph's heart skipped a beat.
Jack still, looking hesitant said "Her name is Elena and I am her friend."
Joseph had suspected that something like this was going on, but now it was confirmed. "Thank you, Jack," he said, "What else you can you tell me about Elena?"
Jack went on to explaining that both Nick's dad and his father wanted Elena to mate with them. That's why she escaped. She's been on the run ever since. Jack also told Joseph that he knew exactly where Elena was.
