March 4th in Sakhir, Bahrain
Mia's POV:Me and my brother had been in Bahrain for two weeks already for testing but today was the start of the race weekend. I was feeling so much pressure to perform from my dad. He was stressing me out so much. Luckily tough, he was not going to be here this weekend.
Max was always a nice big brother but we liked to compete together too even tough I'm in Formula 2 as a Red Bull junior driver and he's in Formula 1 as the first driver.
We were in the Red Bull garage after mine and Max's practices came to an end. I got in my race suit along with my helmet and got into my car as it was time for F2 Qualifying.
I drove out on the track, ready to qualify for pole even though it was my first qualifying in Formula 2. As the quali was done, I was on pole, which was a surprise for many others. But I had no intention of being behind my brother.
"Nice job Mia! Pole position!" Max said as he greeted me when I got out of the car.
"I said it, I'm simply better than you!" I teased him.
Both of us laughed and he hugged me.
"Mia! Can I talk to you for a sec?" My teammate asked me. His name was Dennis. Dennis Hauger.
"Nice job out there! And in your debut too? I'm impressed by your skills!" He congratulated me.
"Thank you! Of course you weren't as fast as me but, next time I'm sure!" I teased him and he got my joke.
"We'll see about that!" He stepped back and walked to his proud dad. Dennis had qualified for 4th in Sundays race and his father was overjoyed. I qualify for pole and I don't even get a congrats from him.
I went back to max who was now talking with RB's team principal, Christian Horner.
"Mr. Horner, Max, What are you guys talking about?" I asked curiously.
"Mia! There you are! I was right about to come find you! Amazing work out there. Congrats on your first pole, especially in your debut! I'm really impressed by you! Keep up the good work, that's the key into getting to formula 1." He bragged and congratulated me.
"I am a Verstappen after all!" I said smiling. "Break a leg Max, I'll go change out of this suit." I wished max luck as I went to my changing room.
After, I got some food, because this girl was starving. "Nice work out there Red Bull girl." A guy in red said to me as I was about to grab a coffee and go. He was the hottest guy I'd literally ever seen, and I couldn't help but wonder who he was.
"Who's talking?" I answered, avoiding eye contact to appear mysterious or something. I panicked okay?!
"Oh just a huge fan of yours!!" He joked and started making faces so that I couldn't hold my straight "mysterious" face anymore.
"I suppose you can get an autograph!" I said to him sarcastically and we started joking back and forth.
He had such a beautiful, big smile and I couldn't look away! We made eye contact with each other multiple times and it felt like it lasted forever. Until he broke the last one.
"Wish me good luck!" He ended the conversation and ran away.
What did he mean by 'good luck'?
I chuckled to myself, not having an idea of what he meant until it finally clicked in my head. His fireproof, number 16, a race suit.
How did I not realize that!? I was talking to Charles Leclerc.
As the time went by I suddenly realized that Max had his second practice in a few minutes. "Shit!" I whispered to myself as I started running towards the Red Bull garage.
