I sat at the cafe waiting for Kennedy to tell me her news. I looked out the window seeing how beautiful it was outside. Until I heard a familiar voice call my name.

"Hello Brianna ,how are you?

I turned around to see who it was and all and behold its my Ex Russell.

"Hi Russell I'm fine how are you." I said turning around to face him.

"I'm good now that I see you ," he replies flashing his white teeth.

He knows that's my weakness!

" Mhmmm how's your baby mama Rain is it?"

"I don't mess with her anymore. You know that" He said as he grabbed my hand and rubbed it.

"Russell stop." I replied trying not to smile.

"Ahem, what's this I see?"

I looked up to see Kennedy looking at me and Russell in suspicion.

"Its nothing Russell was about to leave anyway." I said pushing his hand off mine.

"I'll talk to you later Brianna, bye ladies."

"Bye." We both said waving him off.

"Now what was that about?"

"I'll tell you later. Now what did you have to tell me?" I said changing the subject.

"So remember my step dad Bryan ." Kennedy said joining me at the table.

"Yeah what about him?"

"Well he invited me to come visit them in LA this weekend to celebrate my moms birthday. What do you think Bri what should I do?" She said putting her head on the table.

"I think you should go." I replied

She raised her head looking at me like I was crazy.

"Bri you must be crazy!"

"Kennedy ,this might be a crazy idea but you should go you haven't seen them in 4 years and I think it will make them both happy." I said trying to convince her.

"Alright. Alright I'll go but you, Monay, and Diamond are coming with me."

"Ok I'm fine with that, but are you?" I said trying to comfort her.

"I'm good." She said as she stood up.

"Where are you going?"

"I gotta go get my Grandpa out the hospital."

"Is he ok?"

"Yeah he just been having some heart problems." she said trying her best not cry.

"Are you alright?" I said trying to comfort her.

"Yeah I'm alright I'll see you later." she said as she reached out to hug me.

"Okay bye." I replied hugging her back.

I hope she is alright I thought as I watched her leave.

I sat in the cafeteria as I ate my lunch while listening to music. College life is not how you see in the movies. Going to parties and partying til' the crack of dawn and having a killer hangover in the morning. But that's not what I want to do to jeopardize my grades I want to be top in my class and partying sure ain't gonna help me with that. I lost my train of thought when somebody started tapping my shoulder.
