Sorry for not updating in a bit... Ran out of ideas... Anyways, enjoy!
"Day four: I woke up to the sound of footsteps. I was quick and alert to the sounds however as I quickly grab my bag, put it on and act like I was taking in the nature. Two people pass by me as I just stand there and nod as they go by. I panic as I realize that people had just walked by me. I thought I had gone deep enough into the forest to where no one would be this far. I'll try to think of something and update." I write in my log as I then gather my stuff, catch a few more fish to take with, and head deeper in the forest.
"There was more forest near the edge of the water that I'm POSITIVE no one would be at, but I'd have to find a way down safely... AND I'd have to find a way back UP afterwards!" I think to myself as I carry on deeper into the forest. Eventually, I find my way back to the edge of the water / cliff. I see the two people from before, heading back the other way. I decide to cross the water using the fallen tree from before, and take a wander to see what I can find. "eh... I came here to connect with the forest, and get back to my roots anyways... What fun is it if I'm just in the same spot the whole week?" I think as I trot off ahead.
Eventually, I find a slightly steep slope leading down to the forest area I had saw from the edge of the water before. I take a gander and cautiously go down. As I head down, I notice a bunny rabbit munching on some grass. Something in my brain clicks and I charge full speed for the rabbit on my fours, not thinking about what I'm doing. I eventually realize and stop. "Did I shift? Or? Was that just me being in the forest for days, finally kicking in and making me go crazy?" I think, confused to myself. I carry on and eventually come across a small open field with some flowers growing I pluck one and tuck it into my hair as I carry on to do more exploration of the woods.
I see another rabbit. I even see a deer, but decide to stay away from them. Just to be safe, I should keep my distance from the animals. As I go further into the woods, I notice a small stream. I take a gander and see that it has some fish in it. I then decide to try to catch some, as I brought the stick I pointed on one end with me from before. I manage to catch two fish. They were much bigger than the ones from earlier. "I still need to find somewhere to set up for the night!" I say. I look around and see a small clearing, surrounded by trees. I decide to set up camp here. I gather some medium and larger sticks and branches and form a circle out of them in the clearing, and hop in the middle.
I grab some nearby twigs and rocks to make a fire, and find a long piece of bark to cook my fish. I grab the lighter out of my bag and get the fire started. After cooking the fish and digging in, I update in my log about me going deeper in the woods and making a new base for the next three days. I get up on my feet and stretch. "Woof! It has been a hot minute since I got up and stretched. It's much easier to be on my fours doing quads for a long period of time than I thought." I say as I get back down from the stretch. As it gets later, I decide to het the hay early, as I had a long day.
When I drift off, I have a dream. I'm in the forest. It looks like a dream I've had before. I have human hands, but I'm on all fours, there is the same small hill from the last dream which I had a few months ago. Atop the hill was a tree, much like the last dream. Everything about this dream is exactly like the last one I had, except this time it actually feels like I have a tail wagging, and ears. I climb the hill to the tree, like in the last dream, and begin to climb the tree. As I do, a branch breaks and I fall backwards. As I hit the ground, the dream ends and I wake up from the impact of the fall, exactly like the last dream. (and yes. These are dreams I have had actually irl, both the same except the ears and tail thing. A few months apart from each other.)
I wake up from the sudden impact of the fall in my dream and jolt up. I decide to make note of it in my log. "Day five: It is SUPER early right now as I am just waking up from a dream. It was EXACTLY like this one dream I had months ago, but this time, it felt like I actually had ears and a wagging tail. It was the dream where I go up to this lonesome tree on a small hill and begin to climb it. Then as I climb, a branch breaks and I fall to the ground, waking me up from the impact. Could this be connected to my Theriotype? Could this be how I died? Could this just be me over reacting again? I'm not sure... I'll try to update on that. But for now, I'll update later in the day."
I put my laptop away and set my bag down. "Welp... I'm not going back to bed now... I'm already up, so..." I say as I hop out of my circle of sticks and logs. I quickly set about catching some more fish with my stick. I catch two more before I go back to base to cook them. After eating, I decide to wander off in one direction, as to where I could just easily turn back around and not get lost from my base. "This is a pretty good direction to head." I say aloud, as I head deeper in the forest.
I continue to wander until I hear some birds chirping near by. I notice a baby bird on the ground, and look up. There was a nest in the tree with more birds. I carefully grab the bird and reach up to put it back. I then quickly leave before the momma bird returns. "I was saving him, but momma bird isn't gonna see that. She's just gonna see me with her baby and start to attack!" I say as I leave. I head back to my base, updating in my log about how I saved a baby bird, before cooking something to eat and just chilling the rest of the day for now. Later, I hear some coyotes or wolves howling, and I decide to join in. Eventually it starts to get dark and I call it a day, and head to sleep.
Hope you enjoyed this chapter! I'll try to get the next one done soon!
