20th September

''No way,'' said Pansy. ''No fucking way that you're a siren! Romy, oh my Merlin- if somebody finds out they will take you and examine you, and your life will be ruined!'' she squealed.

''I know Pansy, I know.'' I sighed. ''That's why you can't tell anyone, okay? I trust you, you're my best friend. Not even Blaise knows but I think I'm gonna tell him soon enough.''

''Yes, babe. You can trust me, I will never let you down,'' she promised as she held out her pinky finger. ''Can we trust Blaise, thought? He might tell Malfoy, and if Malfoy knows, he's gonna hand you over himself!''

''Fair enough,'' I said as we intertwined our pinky fingers. After a few seconds, she pulled me for a tight hug and I let out a sigh I didn't even know I held.

We continued to talk about my powers (what and how I can do it) and then we slowly drifted to sleep.

It was a Friday night, Millie was at Theo's, and Daphne had a date with Thomas so I felt like this was the perfect time to tell Pansy about my secret.

Over the last few weeks, Pansy and I became very close that I trusted her completely with my secret. We've spent every minute of each day together.

After the incident with Malfoy, I'd made a promise to myself not to mess around with boys and to refrain from using my charms until October. I needed time to process everything that had happened. So far, I was sticking to my resolution.

Spending time with Pansy really helped me. I don't feel like charming boys each time I feel upset or lonely.

Surprisingly, after the initial awkwardness, Malfoy and I had reached an unspoken agreement to act like nothing had ever happened between us. This came after a week of avoiding each other, and nearly blowing up the Potions classroom, thanks to not communicating the ingredients list with one another. Fortunately, Snape had a soft spot for Malfoy, which likely prevented us from getting detention... again.

Anyways, for the last 2 weeks, every time a boy would come near me, Malfoy noticed. Always.

Malfoy'd then corner the poor boys saying that I'm crazy and I love putting love potions to the goblets of my love interests.

'She will make you crazy and you won't even notice it's happening. Stay away from that crazy witch,' Pansy had overheard him say to a boy the other day.

Not so far from true, Malfoy, I give you that.

He made it his life's motto to make my life a living hell because I 'torment' him during Potions.

He always finds an excuse, doesn't he?

For everyone around, it really seemed like we hated each other to the bones. I think even Malfoy and I thought of it as pure hatred.

But we actually started having fun during potions and got along much better than at the start of the year.

Neither of us will ever admit it, though.

But the weird tension between us still lingered, so I had to keep making fun of him to ease it a bit. He hated every second of my mockery, which, of course, made it even more entertaining for me.

Our dynamic was peculiar, but I appreciated that he was scaring away the clueless boys. At least I wouldn't be causing any more drama, and I could finally focus on myself.

I think he realises it as well.

But I still have to act like it's irritating me because otherwise, he would stop. I think.
