─────•~❉᯽❉~•─────"To be fair, I expected it to go even worse than that so I think it was a win." I shrug, but Ali only sighs at the cafeteria table with her hands on her forehead. Daniel had avoided me all morning and I expected him to do the same for the rest of the day if not the week.
"Trouble in double dating paradise?" Susan asks with a smirk, having known it was a bad idea from the start.
"And when did you go on a date with your trig boyfriend?" Ali questions, causing Suzie to keep quiet, knowing she hadn't gotten the courage to speak to him since he was asking her about another girl.
I spot the cobras at their normal table and it's abnormally quiet amongst them. Tommy spins a pencil repeatedly against the surface of the table, Johnny scribbles onto a piece of paper wearing his headphones, and Bobby reads a book while Dutch is just no where to be found.
"What's up with them today?" Andie asks as she plops down beside me and slides her backpack next to her feet.
"What do you mean?" I ask and she raises her eyebrows.
"Johnny is doing his homework and Bobby is reading...voluntarily. That's not a normal sight to see, Sam, if you haven't noticed." She giggles,
"I don't think I have actually." I conclude as I pop a french fry into my mouth.
"Surprising since you stare at them for at least ten minutes everyday during this period so, I think you'd just be classified as nonobservant at that point."
"At that point, it'd be stalking, smartass. If you're so curious, go and ask your boyfriend how his book is." She playfully shoves my arm with a roll of her eyes and denies the idea although the giddiness is clear in her actions.
The school seems to be in a hushed episode even though voices bustle throughout the hallways in a conjoined mumble. Government is silent, Daniel and I both equally being too stubborn to say anything to each other about Saturday's fiasco. I get why he was upset, but taking it out on me wasn't fair either.
We both have to walk down the same hallway to our last classes and as we do, he slams his shoulder into mine carelessly. I shoot daggers into the back of his head as he continues past the rest of the classrooms.
As soon as I walk into English, I spot Johnny's eyes on me, almost as if he was tempted to say something to me although we didn't speak yesterday like I thought we were going to. I don't think either of us knew what to say after our almost-kiss so we collectively avoided it as a whole and waited to deal with it at school.
He and Tommy don't speak during class at all and the tension was noticeably high the entirety of it, but after almost forty five minutes of sitting, someone kicks the back of my shoe. I glance back to Johnny's gaze and pick up on a twinge of concern within it as he studies my features. I send him a confused look and he leans his forearms against the surface of his desk so he would be able to be heard in a whisper.
"LaRusso giving you trouble?" My head tilts to the side, realizing that he'd still been thinking about the encounter in the hallway with Daniel from almost an hour ago.
"No, we're fine." I respond as the bell rings and he trails alongside me as I aim for the main doors with my books held tightly to my chest.
