"I'll pick you up here okay ?" I nod, smiling as I open the car door. I'm looking down at my phone as I grab my bag, trying to find a song quickly.

"Have a good day, kid" my mum says, looking at me through the side mirrors. Closing the car door, I poke my tongue at her, shoving my hands into my jacket pockets.

"You too mama. See you after school." I grin turning away from the car and starting towards my locker. Ma beeps at me as she drives away and I grin, waving in her direction without looking back.

I flick my music on and start humming as I walk, today will be good.

I know, she knows that I'm not fond of asking, True or false, it may be... Well, she's still out to get me.

Kids scatter the halls, sitting on lockers and crowding around one another like penguins. Jane is not among these people though; her small group of friends no where in sight either - this is how I know the bell has rung.

As I enter in the three digit combination on my paint covered lock I remember there is no form today, shit. It has gotten to the point now, where I have "exceeded the number of days I am allowed to be late" - meaning that now whenever I am late I have to sign in at the office. Really, it's just a pain in my ass more than anything.

I slow my pace now, knowing I'll have to sign in anyway, taking my time to grab my books and shuffle the songs on my phone.

She said "hello mister, pleased to meet ya" I wanna hold her, I wanna kiss her

Smiling and singing as I walk, the day doesn't seem real. Everything is quiet except Angus and Julia, clouds are flecked across the pretty sky, everything is moving and living and it all seems unreal in that moment... But it's not and I smile brightly knowing this for sure.

She smelled of daisies, she smelled of daisies
