Wally's POV:

Eddie and I packed our bags in the bag and closed the trunk, walking to the driver and passenger seat. Eddie started driving. 

"So, how far do your parents live?" I asked.

"About 12 hours. away" 

"Oh..."

"Yep! All the way in the south!"

I nodded my head.

"So, where? Tennessee? Kentucky?"

"Nope. Alabama."

I was honestly shocked. Eddie always sounded like he was from the upper south. I knew he was from the south, but I didn't know that far south.

"One of the best countryside's in all of Alabama!"

Now I see why Eddie talks like that. He's from the deep south.

We had to stay at a hotel for a bit before we could do anything. Eddie's family lives a whole light year away, apparently.

When he got there the day after, he held my hand and made me stop walking.

"Umm, Wally. I think you should be warned about my family first..." He rubbed the back of his head.

"Whyyyy?" I dragged out, looking him up and down.

"It's because I'm black, isn't it?"

"What!? No!"

I laughed and looked back.

"No, it's because we are white trash."

"Oh."

"EDDIE!!!" We both jolted and slowly looked at the door.

A giant family was awaiting our arrival.

"Uh oh." He whispered.

"All I see is white."

We both started walking to them, hands combined.

"Hello, you two!" An older woman welcomed. She pulled Eddie into a hug and kissed his cheek.

"Oh, and you must be Wallace!" She said. I nodded, trying to smile.

"May I call you Wally?" She asked. I nodded.

"Well, Wally, would you like to come inside and see your guy's room?"

Eddie looked at me.

"Yes, please."
