I was peacefully walking down the crowed streets of Sydney. It's much busier than usual. But I didn't give any thought to it. I do remember a friend of mine from the university saying some famous group or something is coming here. 'I wonder who it is. Not that I really care much, but it would be nice to know.' I thought to myself as walk down the street towards my favorite place. The pirate café. It is home to the most delicious and much needed coffee in the world. I am not sure how they do it, but it is amazing.
At the end of the street, I take a usual turn to see the shiny blue and black sign that always starts off my day. I walk in and the first thing that I realize is that it's not just the streets that are overly crowed, but the normally quiet café as well. Again I don't give it much though and look around for a place to sit and luckily for me, my daily seat is still open. Not willing to wait another second, I make my way there. Once I sat down, I scanned the usually quiet place and notice two men sitting in the far corner of the café.
The one was wearing a bright blue hoodie, some tight black jeans and looked like he needed vodka instead of an expresso. 'Relatable.' I have to admit. The other one had on a plain white shirt, a black jacket and some black jeans as well. But other than his friend he had some pretty, deep brown eyes and a cute blond hairstyle.
'Oh my word no! I have been staring for too long.' I think to myself, as I quickly look back at my table. 'I can't just stare at people that's weird.' I internally smack myself, but then decide to just scroll through my social media to see what everyone is up to. Ever since I moved to Australia it feels like I'm not getting anywhere in life. And while everyone is finding there purpose and their dream person and getting their life together, I'm just trying to cope with myself, you know.
"Good morning, Miss. Here is your order." I get pulled out of my thoughts by a cheery voice of a young girl, most likely still in her teen years. She places down an order with a pretty purple and white flower on, a white envelope and a small paper. But I don't remember ordering yet.
"I'm sorry, but I didn't order yet. This sadly isn't mine." I tell the girl politely. "There is probably a small misunderstanding somewhere." I tell her.
"Oh, but there isn't miss. Someone ordered this for you. They also asked that you must please enjoy and also ... please reply. That's if you don't mind." The girl says with a bright smile and walks off before I can say anything further. 'Reply?' I thought to myself. 'But that doesn't sound right at all?'
I first took a glance at everything and then I took the small piece of paper that laid next to the pretty coffee. Who ever wrote this has a very neat handwriting. On the little paper stood, 'Who knew that flowers also has deeper meanings?' I look at the piece of paper than at the coffee in front of me. Then back to the paper. 'Is he talking about the flower on the coffee? That can't seriously be right. Yeah, no. I don't believe this. Let's google just to be safe.' I thought.
I took my phone and googled 'Can flowers have deeper meanings?' and would you look at that they do. 'How? Ok fine. Let's google what this flowers means them. But I don't know what flower this is? Ok. Let's image search and then google it.'
I took a picture of the flower and searched it. According to the internet it was a Calla Lilly. ' This is one very pretty flower. I wonder how long it took the coffee makers to make this on the coffee. Ok, but now to google it's meaning.' The only results that was of use were that it can mean attraction or it can mean death. 'I hate the internet.' I look at the coffee then back at my phone contemplating whether or not I want to open the envelope. 'Oh well what's the worse that can happen. I should probably not jinx myself.'
I took the envelope and open it. The same neat handwriting being presented to me.
'I can promise you that I meant attraction and not death,
that's if you had to googled it.
The reason for the flower is because I feel a magnetic attraction, attracting me towards you and I haven't felt this in forever.
I hope we can talk again and the small paper was a bit of a clue to who I am. So are you going to try and figure me out or are you gonna break my heart like all the mean girls.''Oh my soul this is the cutes and cringiest thing anyone has ever told me. I can't even.' I look back at the paper and the coffee before I looked around. 'I wonder if this is from that cute blond. It would be nice, but let's not make fantasies just yet.'
I drink the coffee or rather chocolate cappuccino and write my reply. When I'm finished the young girl came and told me the mysterious person already paid for it. I couldn't believe it. I got up and made my way to my university. Suddenly my life got a lot more interesting.
