My people are special. We have something most don't. Power to predict the future.
We are predestined for life. There are no altercations allowed. Imagine Sleeping Beauty and even though her sleep tried to be prevented, it happened anyway. That is our life. How do we know?
Tattoos. They will appear on us in a sharp jolt of pain at any given moment. If you fall in love with your future spouse, BAM!, a heart will appear on you. That's how you know you are meant for each other. Sometimes even initials will appear before you ever meet your future spouse.
When you are born you will always have your name on you. Well, almost always. Me, I was called special. I didn't get a tattoo instantly, or even for a couple of days. I was nameless until my 3rd day. They called me a late bloomer, but the government was curious. They have been watching me for years. This is a story about me. My life. How I was bullied, fell in love, only to find out it might not have meant to be.
My name is Laurel. No nicknames. I have been told my name means I am beautiful, kind, and ruled by my emotions. The last two might be true, but I'll let you decide if I'm beautiful. I have long, dirty blonde hair and light brown eyes. My teeth are straight and I am tall. (See picture) I stick out because of my height. I intimidate most people. I don't understand why because I'm not all that popular.
I live at home with my parents, Paula and Tyler, and my two younger sisters, Cara and Maria. They are twins and I love them to death but they bug me sometimes. They always need help but can defend themselves. It doesn't make sense. They have gotten in many fights, but are still two of the most popular girls in their grade. One is dating a boy named Abram and the other a guy named Darrell. Cara has pink and purple hair while Maria has brown and turquoise. I don't know how mom let that one slip.
At school, I'm in 9th grade, the twins are in 2nd. They were held back a year. I have two best friends who I share most of my classes with, Camila and Evelyn. But there are two guys I share all my classes with, CT and Jordan. CT is a beast. He's the school bully and everyone is intimidated by him. Jordan, on the other hand, is sweet, funny, and kind. In other words, I have a HUGE crush on him. We have been friends since 5th grade but never left the friend zone. Come one, my sisters have had multiple boyfriends and I can't even score one?!?
I guess you want to know my tattoos. I currently have one of Laurel (my name), a dog (my future pet), five hearts (for my family), and others. I don't have as many as other people. My dad has a walnut (which is his nickname for my mom), my mom has the initials TRS (my dads initials), Cara has a horse (she ADORES them), and Maria has a sword (because she is one tough bitch).
And now onto the interesting part of how my wonderful life crumbled within minutes.
