Chapter Seven

Six Weeks Later

Sitting in a conference room, Jimin sat quietly eating and organizing papers when Taehyung walked in only to sit down at the other end of the long table. Jimin being so focused on what he was doing didn't notice anything.

Taehyung sitting down finally broke the silence that engulfed the whole room. "Jimin, I'm sorry about what happened a few weeks ago." Taehyung said while looking at him. Jimin, being startled, looked up only to roll his eyes at Taehyung.

"I miss you." Taehyung said.

Jimin felt his heart skip a beat at the words that were just uttered, but ignored it. Remembering all the pain and heartache that Taehyung had caused in the past, Jimin was suddenly filled with anger as the feeling he had for Taehyung had suddenly come rushing back to the front of his mind.

A voice in his head told him to say it back but he couldn't bring himself to say those three words back to Taehyung those words that they used to say to each other a long time ago.

Jimin kept silent and continued to eat and work on organizing the papers in front of him. "I want to start over Jimin, I already said I was sorry so many times for what I did back then. And I'm sorry for everything that happened now I really am sorry about everything that I really am." Taehyung said while keeping his gaze on Jimin.

"I love you Jimin." After hearing those words from Taehyung, Jimin stopped everything he was doing. His heart pounded like crazy, anger taking over completely now. Looking up at Taehyung. Jimin screamed "Y y y you cheated on me not once not twice but three different times twice with the same person and the third with someone else. How the hell do you expect me to believe you now after everything that happened."

"I know, I know I know I fucked up big and I've regretted every second of it and I still regret all of it now. But I've realized something now that we've been separated from each other for so long." Taehyung said standing up with his eyes still on Jimin but now filled with tears.

"I can't live without you. And I mean it truly, I've been going crazy not having you by my side twenty four /seven. I love you Jimin and I promise to never hurt you again." Taehyung said. "Those were the exact same words you said to me the first time you cheated on me so don't make promises you can't keep. I'm leaving good night."Jimin said.

Gathering his things from the table quickly he turned and walked towards the doors of the conference room but stopped before opening them to say one more thing "I'm sorry Taehyung but I can't go through all that heartache with you not again not for a fourth time." And with that said Jimin left and with Jimin now gone, Taehyung was left standing in an empty conference room with tears streaming down his face.

The next few days at work were nothing but chaos, with everyone running around the office. "He hasn't been here for twelve days now?" A group of coworkers next to Jimin say. "I've worked here for over four years, and he's never missed a day of work ever." Another coworker chimed in.

Jimin looked down at his sketchbook and pencil thinking to himself "What the hell are you doing Taehyung?" The group of coworkers still gossiping next to Jimin said "I heard an old friend of his was in town and he wanted to hang out with him."

Jimin, now deep in thought, couldn't help but say quietly to himself, "Surely you're not doing this because of the heated argument that we had in the conference room a few weeks ago you idiot."

"Hey, Jimin." a voice behind him said, but Jimin still in his trance says to himself. "He's never done anything like this before and I've known him longer than anyone else here."

"Hey Jimin!" Seok yelled, bringing Jimin fully back to reality. Dropping his pencil and turning his head to the right he saw Seok leaning on his desk. Seok asked, "What's got you so lost in thought?" "Sorry it's just a lot has been going on since "Mr. Kim" has been out of the office." Jimin said with a sigh.

Seok nodded in agreement and said "Maybe someone should go check on him but I was here to ask you something else anyways a group of our coworkers are going out again later tonight. Do you want to come?" He asked while picking up some papers from Jimin's desk, straightening them out.

Jimin shook his head. "I can't, I have to finish up some things here to prepare for tomorrow's meeting. You can go without me." Seok grinned. "Well, if you change your mind we'll be at the new karaoke place just down the street from here see you later!"

He turned around walking back to his desk grabbing his jacket off the chair, Jimin sat at his desk watching Seok as he left the office.
