Chapter Nine

Time Jump

"I can't believe you said and did that." Ace said while cutting vegetables in the kitchen and shaking his head.

"I know but it was a one-time thing so it's okay right?" Jimin said, walking towards the kitchen to show Ace his outfit.

Ace looked Jimin up and down then shook his head saying. "You're overthinking this." turning his attention back to the cutting board full of vegetables.

Jimin sighed and walked into the kitchen over to where Ace was and picked up a piece of carrot taking a bite out of it.

"I'll be back soon." Jimin said while munching on the carrot while grabbing his shoes and jacket and walking towards the front door to leave.

"That idiot." Ace said after he heard the door close.

Later That Day After Work

Jimin and Taehyung agreed to meet up and have a civilized conversation about everything that had happened between them. "Hey! you're here I was worried you wouldn't show up." Taehyung said, smiling cheerfully at Jimin.

"Oh shut up." Jimin said with a small laugh.

They walked toward the restaurant that they talked about earlier that day. Walking in, they both sat down at a table for two while the waiter gave them both a cup of water and left.

"This is a nice place." Jimin said while looking around.

Taehyung nodded, saying "I come here a lot while picking up his cup and taking a sip."

Taehyung, now placing his cup back down on the table, started to say "So I wanted to ask you som...."

Taehyung was cut off by a group of girls almost screaming at the sight of seeing him saying.

"Oh my gosh is that Mr.Kim?" one of the girls from behind said out loud.

Both Taehyung and Jimin looked back to see a small group of girls looking in their direction.

The girl who shouted earlier quickly ran up to them and stood looking at Taehyung saying "Oh Mr. Kim! I've always wanted to work for your company! Do you think you could look at my resume?"

Not saying anything Taehyung shook his head looking over at Jimin and giving him a look like you go first and I'll catch up.

Jimin, nodding his head, getting up from the table and walked over to the doors of the restaurant but before walking out turned around one more time to look back at the group of girls now surrounding Taehyung and with that Jimin walked out the doors and waited for Taehyung at the side of the building.

"Listen, guys, I'm not taking any more applications at this time nor am I looking for any more people to work for me. However, if you're still interested in working for me, try to apply again next year when more spots have opened up." Taehyung said while getting up from the table, starting to make his way toward the exit.

Exiting the building, Taehyung saw Jimin waiting for him leaned up against the building. So Taehyung without saying anything grabbed Jimin's wrist and the two of them fled from the group of girls who were now chasing after them.

They ran for what felt like forever until they stopped to catch their breath at a park.

"Interesting that's never happened to me before." Taehyung said while panting heavily.

Jimin, seeing a bench close by them, walked over to sit on it and Taehyung followed.

"This place looks familiar." Jimin said while struggling to catch his breath.

Taehyung, still breathing heavily, looked around and then had a sudden realization that hit him hard. This was the park where they had first met each other and became a couple but it's also the same place their relationship ended.

Looking over at Jimin with a softer expression.

Taehyung said "You're right It's where the two of us became a couple and also where we broke up." Taehyung then looked out at the river in front of them.

Jimin's eyes widened as he thought for sure it wasn't really the place where they had first met but after looking around for a little longer he realized that it was and that they were sitting in the park where their relationship both began and ended in a place that held both happiness and sadness.

"You never did tell me what exactly happened?" Jimin said.

Taehyung looked at Jimin with weary eyes.

"Better late than never I guess I'll tell you."

"It all happened because I was drunk at that college frat party. You told me not to go to but I was with a friend and he was the one who introduced me to Bogum." Taehyung said.
