Chapter 1:

Tsubaki's POV:

I can't wait to meet this new girl." I say with a smile, but by the looks of Black Star, he is ready to go home. "New girl. Pft! She better not be to cool, not that I'm saying she could because I'm such a huge star but if people make a ruckus about her, that means she will be taking my spot light!" He said. I couldn't help but giggle. "What are you laughing at Tsubaki!!" He looks at me. "No one can out shine you Black Star!" I say and he looks surprised. "At least you know how great I am!" He said blushing, looking at the ground. I heard footsteps and I look to see this figure walking up the stairs. " Black Star, is that her?" I ask. "I guess, she's been the only one up here since the bell rang." He says standing up. "Woah." He says when she reaches the top of the stairs. "What?" I ask looking in the direction he was, wow! She looks cool, but she is alone. Why? "H-Hi! You must be Kusabi Shiani. I'm Tsubaki and this is Black Star" I say while shaking her hand. She doesn't say anything.... Ummmmmm......... "Come on, let's show you around the school." I say breaking the silence.
~2 hours later~
And that is where you will be staying! That sums up the entire tour! Welcome to the academy!" I say bowing to her. "Thank you for showing me around." She bows back. She spoke!!!!! Her voice is a little softer then her appearance, I think me and her will be good friends! I hope Maka will like her! " I hate to ask but will you take me to see Lord Death?" She asks. "Oh! I forgot about that!" I completely blanked out on taking her to Lord Death! Dang it! Maka is better at tours then I am. We all walk to Lord Deaths office. "Lord Death? Lord Death are you here?" I look around. "YES! Hello Tsbuaki and Black Star! How do you kiddies do?" He says giving us a peace sign. " We brought Kusabi to you like you wanted. Now can we go?" Black Star says. "Yes, I need to speak with her alone. Go back to your classes. Have a good day!" Lord death tells us, I bow and me and Black Star leave. "I can't wait to tell Soul!" Black Star says running away once we got out of Lord Deaths office. "Black Star!!!!!!" I yell after him. I guess I have to run after him to! I began running. We get close to the class when the bell rings for everyone to go to their second class.

Souls POV:

I'm half asleep in class when the bell rings. "Finally." I say getting up out of my seat and walked out the room. I get out the door only to see Black Star laying on the ground. "Black Star! What are you doing?" I ask him. "Girl. New." He quietly says. "What?" I can't hear this idiot. Tsubaki walks up panting. Did they run here? " There's a new girl to the academy. We just had to give her a tour!" Tsubaki says once she got her breathe back. "And I care why?" I ask. Black Star gets close to my ear and says "She's cute and scary but cool looking." "She seems like a... Interesting person but she didn't have a partner with her, which I found it weird though, she came to this school without a weapon but Lord Death said she is a very good meister! He even went to the length to say that she is close to being on the level of Professor Stein! She must be very strong!" Tsubaki says. There is no way anyone could be on the same level as Stein, or even close. I don't care about this new girl so I just wave to them and walk away. "Wait....Soul. Damn it!" Black Star pants. I walk and walk till I see a crowd around where the missions are. What's going on there? "Yeah, they said her weapon was broken." This girl whispers to her friend and her friends gasps. What? Did I just hear that right? I never heard of a weapon getting broken! Is that even possible? "She is totally hot but if the rumors are true I don't want to be near her" this guy says. Normal school drama but this makes me very interested, I want to know what everyone is in a buzz about over some girl who doesn't have a partner, she's new for Christ sakes. I push through the crowd and look around till I finally see her. Woah...... She is cute.... DID I JUST SAY CUTE? I'm loosing my cool over a chick.... Oh god.... My eyes are zoomed into her so I could take in her appearance. She turns to look at me, my heart skips a beat. Her blonde hair goes alittle past her hips, but only half of it is pulled up. Her eyes are crimson red, adding the touch of scary and cool Black Star was talking about. Her outfit consists of a black cut off too with short sleeves that revealed her stomach ( a little past her belly button), blue jean shorts, ripped leggings and boots with straps and cuffs on them." She's looking this way! Be careful! If you look into her eyes wrong she will break you!" Some girl says. The new girl turns around and starts to walk away. Black Star was right, she is cute but scary looking and what were they saying about her weapon getting broken. She seemed like a normal meister to me, I've got to see Lord Death about that part, maybe he will describe it or dismiss the rumors. I walk down the little trail to get to Lord Death. "Ahhhh Soul! How have you been?" He asks me. "Good, I want to know about the new girl. Why is there a rumor going around that she broke her weapon?" I ask. "I seen you've heard about it. Yes, her weapon got broken in a fight with a very powerful threat. She won't tell me what happened but she did tell me that they were in a fight that they shouldn't have been in." He explains but I'm still confused. How can a weapon be broken??? "Weapons can be broken due to stress, lack of rest, or if the enemy was way to powerful for that weapon. Kusabi is a very strong meister, so I don't know what went wrong with her weapon but all I know is she came here looking for a partner but no one is willing to be her partner because of what happened." He explain some more. "What does happens to a broken weapon." I asked scared to know the answer. " 2 things could happen. The weapon will heal but he or she won't be able to turn into a weapon any more or.......They die." He says. I couldn't help but show the shock on my face. "Did her weapon die?" I asked. " I don't know, Kusabi won't say anything about her past but Please, don't be afraid to be her friend or even her partner." He says "What makes you think I was going to be her partner? I promised Maka I would wait for her till she came back from helping her mom." I say. "Soul, I know you promised Maka, but you won't become a Death Sythe waiting around for you partner to come back, she probably won't come back for a week, month, or a year. Think about it." He said sounding disappointed. Damn it!! I don't know what to do!!! "Come and watch her skill test, it will be this afternoon after school. See what she is capable of and ten make your decision." He tells me while I walk away. I guess I don't have a choice. This day just got uncool real quick.

(Flashback to earlier, kusabis version)

Kusabis POV:

I get to the top of the stairs to see this black haired girl and blue haired guy sitting one the ground. They spot me and she smiles at me. "H-Hi you must be Kusabi Shiani. I'm Tsubaki and this is Black Star." She says while shaking y hand. She seems nice and he seems, by the look he is giving me, that he is irritated. I got lost in thought when Tsubaki said "Come on, let's show you around the school." I nod and we walk into the school. After 2 hours of walking around she points me to where I would be staying. I get an apartment? Cool. "That sums up the entire tour! Welcome to the academy!" She says to me while bowing . "Thank you for showing me around." I say and bow back. She seemed surprised when I talked. " I hate to ask but will you take me to see Lord Death?" I ask remembering that he wanted to talk to me when I got here. " Oh! I forgot all about that!" She says and begins walking so I followed her along with Black Star. We were walking down this long trail, where are we going? "Lord Death? Are you here Lord Death?" She says looking around. "YES! Hello Tsbuaki and Black Star! How do you kiddies do?" He says giving us a peace sign. He seems mighty happy to be the grim reaper. "We brought Kusabi to you like you wanted. Now can we go?" Black Star says. "Yes, I need to speak with her alone. Go back to your classes. Have a good day!" Lord death tells them, Tsubaki bows and then they both leave. "Hello Kusabi. How was your trip?" He asks. "Long, why was I accepted here Lord Death?" I asked. "Because you are a very skilled meister and with your current situation I figured you would like to find a new partner. Not to mention that you are the youngest but strongest meister at this." He assures. "With all do respect, I don't want a new partner. I would like to attend this academy but I don't want to put another weapon at risk. " I say while clenching my fist. "What happened to your partner? If you don't mind my asking" He asked me. What? I can't tell him..... I don't want..... I..... I won't tell him. I just kept quiet for a little bit then I spoke " Its like you thought. My weapon was broken." I say trying to show a little amount of emotions I could. "Alright, will you sit here and take the written part of the test and later you can come back and do the skill test." He points to the desk behind him. I nod and sat down and grabbed the booklet and flipped through the pages, looking through each question. Okay I got this, I flipped back to the first page and began writing. 1,000 questions will be a piece of cake. ~9 minutes later~ I lay the pencil down and stand up. I bow to Lord Death and walked away. I leave the room he was in and walked down the hallway. I hear people whispering as I walk down the hallway. I come to this wall with little slips of wood with what appears to be missions on them. Some are marked with names and some are blank, I stand there reading. I heard whispering so I turned around to see a crowd around me staring and whispering, so I turned back around to ignore them. "Yeah she is hot but if the rumors are true then I don't want to be near her" I heard someone says so I turned back around to see the white haired guy standing there looking at me. "She's looking this way! Be careful! If you look at her wrong she will break you!" Some girl says. What?! How did they.... That's it!! I turn around and began to walk and everyone made me a path. They are acting like everyone did at my old school. I just kept walking, I'm not dealing with this. I walked into a classroom and sat in the seat closer to the door. After everyone walked in, no one sat around me. I waited till the bell rang and a man walked into the room with a lab coat on and he had a screw in his head. This must be the famous meister Stein I heard about. "Everyone, I'd like to introduce a new student." He looked at me and motioned for me to go stand beside him. "The is Kusabi. Be sure to make her feel at home in this class room." He smiled at me and pushed me alittle but towards my seat. I think I'm going to like him as my teacher. I heard people talking behind me then I felt something but my back so I turned around to see them throwing paper balls at me. " We don't need a meister to be breaking things now do we?" One boy said. I give him a death glare, " What did you say to me?" I asked coldly. "Dude stop, the rumors must be true." His friend said to him. "No, we don't need some girl breaking things around here. I asked one of the teacher and they said that breaking a weapon could lead to death for he or she who were broken. So like I said you need to leave! Your not wanted here." He said to me.... I begin to shake. Why? It wasn't my fault. Before I could think I get up and run out the room. I kept running and running till I was finally outside. I sat there till the next bell rang. Can this day get any worse? " That must be her." I heard a girl say behind me so I turned around to see. The guy who was saying that I needed to leave was with 5 other people. "Can I help you with something?" I ask. "Like I said earlier, we need you to leave!" The guy said. I had to go and ask if it could get any worse. I stand there for about 5 minutes and I felt a gust of wind flow past me when that happened that same guy ran towards me with his weapon in hand. Here it goes!
